Deck Description

Do you want to play EDH? Don't you have an EDH deck? Do you think most of those ready-to-play-decks cost too much for your desires?
...Or do you just think you can't figure out a funny idea for your EDH deck?
NO MORE!
Budget EDH-series is meant for players that want to play EDH.
They are playable and their price is low! (Between 25 and 50 bucks.)

This specific budget EDH deck was requested by TWally.

How to Play

"Does me go face? Does me no have to trade?"

This deck is made in glory of all Hearthstone's Face Hunter decks. Whatever you do, attempt to deal as much damage as possible to your opponent's "face" to cut them down quickly. This deck can escalate into some hilarious 1v1 moments or add some neat politics/aggression to passive 1v1v1v1 EDH matches.

Deck discussion for Budget EDH: Me Go Face?

Claws of Valakut would be rather brutal.

Nice deck. What about akki lavarunner? it has great synergy with hell rider.

jaya ballard task mage would also be a great commander, and it wouldnt hurt to splurge a few extra dollars for valkut and koth

Why Zurgo Bellstriker as the commander?
Purphoros, God of the Forge, Rakka Mar or even Kamahl, Pit Fighter are way better for a mono-red burn EDH as commanders.
Since you got lots of warriors and elementals, Brighthearth Banneret might be a nice addition too.
Magma Jet and skullcrack aren't bad either.

zurgo is cheap. Plus the dash. Remember, It costs two more whenever it dies, and I dont want to be paying 7 mana for pit fighter. Btw, I dont think the dash adds in cost when dies.

Sure Zurgo is cheap, but wouldn't ping commanders or a 3/1 haste summoner be more in synch with both the theme and the playstyle of this deck?

Zurgo is commander damage from turn 2 though.

From turn two yes, but if the opponent has anything on the battlefield, zurgo is rather useless.

I see this as sort of like a budget verson of pushkins "anti edh edh". The upgeades are versitlie for this deck. Id also like to say this seems to be a 1v1 commander deck. Im not disssageing with khamal or Ross as commaders though. But I do think they would reqire this deck to be tweaked and have money added to it. ( I have a ross edh deck)

@Darius
As mtgblackman (probably) informed above, this deck was requested by Twally, so the commander is gonna stay.

i would play this while listening to avril lavigne skater boy, because skaeters are generally retarded, on account of landing on their heads so many times. and red is the obvious choice. skater boy- by avril lavigne, look it up /\

Yes, you can Dash Zurgo from the command zone without having to pay the additional 2 mana for each time you've cast him.

0

No, you can't... Dash is an alternative cost, so you're still casting it; it's not like Derevi's "put this into play from the command zone," which is an activated ability (like Reassembling Skeleton or World Breaker) and never increases.

Since you're casting Zurgo from the zone for its dash cost, you have to pay extra. If he's in your hand, you can do whatever you want.

Really? It seems our play group will have to reevaluate how we've interpreted that ruling.

It acctually wouldn't matter, because even if dash increased, afterward it goes into hand and you can cast it for one or two (dash again). But i dont think dash increases.

From the command zone, yes, the dash cost increases, because you're CASTING it, the same way that if there was a Trinisphere out, it would cost 3 to dash him assuming no other effects were in play. If he's in your hand, he dashes normally.

And manray, you are right, the increase only matters when he dies/gets exiled, but it is there if that happens. Dashing Zurgo for 4 seems like a waste.

Yes, you would have to pay the additional 2 for each. Same with kolaghan. Its a simple cast vs put scenario. Eg, derevi vs kolaghan.

Yeah, but dah helps, because in the hand its casted for normal costs.

Pretty well to be honest. It looks like life is showing me its best sides for once.
Thanks for asking though.

Incase of taunt, hunter burn. In case of deathrattle, heavy mech deathrattle. Incase of high health, light mech deathrattle.

I like it. Simple and to the point. Hit. Them. Hard.

Also can I make a request for a deck? Looking for a budget Exava edh deck kinda similar to this and I'm not very good at making budget decks. They ALWAYS end up just somehow going above 100-120 bucks I don't know how so I'm coming to the expert. Thanks a ton dude.
