Deck Description

I'm a big fan of the colour combination and want to try a more midrangey style of deck. To this end I've created the above but I'm sure it could do with a lot of improving. Baneslayer for example feels too expensive for the amount of lands I'm using but I'm not sure what to remove to accommodate her. Could potentially drop her and the nighthawks out for some anthems as this'd help all the tokens become a threat.

How to Play

Use Lingering Souls and Hero/Brimaz to create a small army. Use the walkers and other spells to support this.

Deck discussion for Modern Dega

good deck. i think you are better off cutting blightning for +1 inquisition, +1 lightning helix. i playtested it and for the cost it feels slow. on another note landbase seems spot on

Thanks for the replies. Liliana of the Veil is awesome but is out of my budget atm. I'd like both her and Dark Confidant in the deck at some point. After playing a game or two I agree with you on Blightning. Did find land to be a bit of an issue though. You reckon the Graven Cairn style lands would be worth using to filter the right colours?

If you have them yes! they can def help to find the sources you need. if you start to build a sideboard i would add rakdos charm, darkness, path to exile, gutteral response, anger of the gods, from the ashes is great against scapeshift or decks with minimal basic lands

I feel that Confidant may not be the best in a deck that has 9 spells over 4 CMC, but i guess it really depends what you take out to add it into the deck.

Zealous Persecution is a card you may want to consider as a 1-2 of main deck and maybe in the sb.
It lets your tokens smash for more damage but also doubles as removal. Now that Deathrite is banned 1 toughness creatures run rampant as mana dorks etc:
Just to name a few creatures it can kill:
Blinkmoth Nexus
Inkmoth Nexus
Vault Skirge
Signal Pest
Arcbound Ravager
Steel Overseer
Memnite
Grim Lavamancer
Dark Confidant
Young Pyromancer
Delver of Secrets
Lingering Souls
Silvergill Adept
Cursecatcher
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Aven Mindcensor
Flickerwisp
Vendilion Clique
Slippery Bogle
Gladecover Scout
Noble Hierarch
Pack Rat
Serra Ascendant
Squadron Hawk
Martyr of Sands
Birds of Paradise

Well I'm sure you get the picture:P It's best vs affinity as almost every creature they have has 1 toughness.

Hey! I like the deck, I'm running something very similar for the last PTQ. Instead of bobs, with a high mana curve go Phyrexian Arena and Chandra, Pyromaster. As V-Rex said, 1 damage can do a lot in the format too. I would also highly recommending switching blighting with more thought seize/inquisitions. Lastly Hide // Seek is a great card for dega, and it is definitely worth running main board. hope that helps!
