Deck Description

Just thought I'd give Samut a try in edh and can't say I'm not pleased with it. Opened up one at pre release and found it to be such a blowout just flashing her in and gaining massive advantage.

How to Play

The deck is made to play strong cards on their own without Samut needed in all cases. But there are definetly synergies once you flash her in. Originally I thought to put in more tapping and uncapping synergies but I found that route of play to be too gimmicky by itself. There are for sure still some of those shenanigans in there but they aren't the centeral theme to the deck.

The main idea is to play out the first couple of turns with your standard fair, a mana dork or ramp spell to get ready. The turns where you have the 5 mana open is where things start to heat up. You can keep mana up on your opponents turn in case theres a need to drop some instant speed removal before you drop Samut. The turn after should be your pay off. Either it be chaining mana dorks that now have haste thanks to Samut or just putting out pressure with synergistic creature. I personally love dropping a krenko onto the board. Theres no other real goblin synergies but the fact that with Samut out you are have access to tap Krenko the turn he comes out, untap him with Samut, rinse and repeat as the turns go along.

Some cards are personal pet cards I love to throw into decks. My favorites of which being the older Odric and Duelist's heritage. Older Odric can steal games faster than you'd think. Dropping him out (occasionally with haste) and swinging in while using his ability almost always wins or turns the board heavily in your favor. Opponent got untapped creatures that are giving you trouble? Looks like you are chumping with that grand arbiter. Not to mention just declare you opponent having no blocks and make your swing amazingly effective. Duelist's heritage on the other hand is amazing for me after I realized that it applies on every other player's turn if you choose it to on any attacking creature.
