Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Instants (8)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I'm in the process of making 4 standard decks based on all the four gold "Captains" in Standard:
1. Stromkirk Captain - Vampires
2. Diregraf Captain - Zombies
3. Drogskol Captain - Spirits
4. Immerwolf - Wolves and Werewolves

Creatures in the deck should generally be of the type that the deck's Captain supports.

This is the rough draft for the Drogskol Captain Deck.

Interesting idea. It is a nice card if you can get it into play, but 7 mana casting cost makes me hesitate.

I do have some thoughts on this deck.
What support do you have for Saint Traft? Without some sort of evasion, he's going to die very easily in one shot unless you spend a bunch of turns buffing him with captains. Even a Runechanter's Pike would give him first strike to make him harder to block. (and would fit with your spells) Without any support I think he's a pricey card not helping this deck.

No dual lands? You should at least be running Glacial Fortress - they're not expensive and will be essential to landing your turn 3 plays.
Consider one or two Moorland Haunts to get extra use out of dead creatures, as well as spawning extra Spirits to pair with those captains.
If you're running Lingering Souls, consider running a Swamp and two Evolving Wilds. This will give you reasonable odds of hitting that black mana to flash everything back. Alternatively, there are UB and WB dual lands, and a handful would help land the extra power.

I'd love feedback on my GW humans deck, if you could take a look! Thanks!

Hi Sajomir,

You know I really never thought about giving Saint Traft evasion, I just imaged I'd Vapor Snag blocker away. Maybe you got a point. I debated in my mind Saint Traft or Dungeon Geists.
Saint Taft won due to less mana cost is Hexproof and attacks with 4/4 flying token.
I think I'll compromise. I'll reduce Saint Traft to 2 and add 2 Dungeon Geists so now I have 2 more ways to get rid of blockers to Saint Taft. And that also allows me to play Phantasmal Image of a Dungeon Geist as possible play in the deck.

Yeah I still need to turne the lands. This is just a quick throw together to get suggestions.

Thanks for the input. I'll take a look at your deck soon.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this deck is deliberately with out any artifacts or enchantments so as to gain possible virtual card advantage if the opponent is packing enchantment or artifact removal in main deck. My local gaming enviroment is packed with artifacts and artifact removal in sideboard.

in my playgroup, the thingies are called "Lords" after Lord of the Unreal and what he did for Illusions.
ANYVAY. There do not appear to be enough spirits in this thing to make Drogschkol worth it.
THEREFORE, I say ya take him out for Champ of the Parish and make a rockin Human deck.
ORRRR ELSE go Midnight Haunting and Moorland and emphasize Spirit-poopin.

Hi thGR8D35tr0Y3r,

Well I was planning on tuning the land so Moorland Haunt, Seachrome Coast, Glacial Fortress are an obvious adds.

You're right Champion of the Parish is superior to Drogschkol Captain. But I can't get rid of it because the whole idea is to get the 4 Captain decks to fight each other. But looking at the non-spirit creature cards most of them are superior to Midnight Haunting. I did toy with the idea of adding Doomed Traveler but Delver of Secrets is superior to it unless I add Sword Artifacts or Runechanter's Pike to the main deck this also will add the protection that Sajomir suggested for Saint Traft.

So take a look at the changes and let me know what you think.

yeah. few will deny that Delver is among the top five in Stan today.
and for some reason, i didn't think traft was a Spirit. thought he was Human.
WELL, i'm naturally going to say "More spiritpoopen"

Here's a take i have from Stromkirk. Ya it's mostly a vampire deck beut the captain is essential and brutal for me in it. Lemme know what you think

Not bad, after using vamps for a while i too was inspired to make a deck built around a different captain, this is pretty similar to one of mine:
