so is this using removal spells till you get the ramp up to play the planeswalkers then keep them alive long enough to get some of those big effects going? I see nissa and garruk both produce token creatures and vraska gives deathtouch. The curve is kind of high on the win condition spells.

Yes, it is about planeswalkers protecting each other at times & the removal does that as well... ...+ Courser is a great blocker as well, especially in early & midgame... ...Hornet Queen is the best way to ensure that creatures won't hit my planeswalkers.......The curve might be high, but the ramp is good enough & with Courser & Read the Bones, lands come faster... ...I can usually cast Nissa or Vraska on turn 4(though I sometimes hold Vraska back if I have only 1 copy in hand)...Once I have Nissa out, it's not an issue to cast Garruk, but even without her, it's not so hard to do... ...I have enough lands, card adventage & ramp for that...I love using Golgari Charm for regeneration when Hornet Queen is on board & I'm against control... ...it just throwes off Supreme Verdict badly... :)Thanks for your comment, it totally makes sense!..
you use read the bones for a mana search. brilliant. wouldn't have thought of that.
Sometimes, when I need it... ...but in mid/late-game, I rather want extra removal to protect my walkers, or a Queen...
