Deck Description

A rather different EDH using Shirei to abuse sacrifice mechanics and many often neglected 0/X and 1/X creatures (Chimney Imp, for example, is amazing in this deck). This is primarily a multiplayer EDH, but it can do quite well in 1 vs 1 as well.

Deck discussion for Not the size...

When Chimney Imp is a win-con, you know you're doing something right.

Nice deck, but it needs some work. Shirei has a really neat mechanic and it works exceptionally well with black. A lot of the cards in here are wonderful, but some just don't pull their weight. Like Bottle Gnomes, yeah gaining 3 life every turn is nice, but there are better cards. Some things I suggest you add are:
Augur of Skulls: Recursive discard and he can be a chump blocker.
Big Game Hunter: Blow up a big creature every turn. If he doesn't have a target, then great, nothing's going to deal you anything more than 3 damage. Sounds like a win-win.
Bogbrew Witch, Festering Newt, and Bubbling Cauldron: Why sacrifice a creature to give something -1/-1 when you can sacrifice a creature to give something -4/-4, gain a bunch of life, and make opponents loose life?
Cadaver Imp: Shirei might not be able to recur everything in your yard so Cadaver Imp is just like a walking disentomb.
Deathgreeter: Everything's gonna die anyways, why not gain some life. 1/2 of Blood Artist.
Liliana's Shade: Finds you a swamp of two every turn and in a pinch it can trade with a big creature with all those extra swamps.
Liliana of the Dark Realms: It's a mono black deck. She finds you lands, she quadruples your mana, what's not to like?
Exsanguinate: Gain a bunch of life and possibly kill some opponents.
Extraplanar Lens, Caged Sun, Gauntlet of Power: With the four of them out, all your swamps tap for BBBB each. They belong in every mono colored deck ever.

I suggest you take out:
Diamond Valley: You don't need to gain life that badly.
Shizo: The only legend you have that is worth using this on is Maga and she's not even that good.
Undiscovered Paradise: You can only make black mana anyways so its not worth it. Just put in a swamp.
Myr Sire: At its best ita 2 1/1s. There are better effects you can get.
Maga, Traitor to Mortals: Yeah Shirei can bring her back, but then she dies immediatly because she's a 0/0.
Bottle Gnomes: You have much better life gain in this deck than 3 every turn.
Death Cultist: It's ok, but there are better creatures to stick in here. 1 life isn't going to do a whole lot against most people. A lot of EDH decks have life gain at least in some form, and the ones that don't are designed to work on very little life.
Thrull Parasite: Not a lot of decks center around counters and when they do, its Ghave, Guru of Spores and you can not possibly remove all 47 or so of his counters with Thrull Parasite.
Soldevi Adnate: Since you probably don't want to be using this on Harvester of Souls, the most you'll get out of it is 1 or 2 mana and most of what you cast is that much any ways.

I Disagree with Thrull Parasite. I see A lot of pesky +1/+1, charge, est counters floating around. THRULL PARASITE CAN HIT PLAINSWALKERS! Mono black has no way to deal with a plainswalker other then removing its counters, or destroy target permanent. Which there is a VERY limited number of, so having that utility to chow down on a plainswalker like venser is AMAZING!

Ah, true, Thrull can hit PWs, hadn't thought of that. PWs aren't very prominent in my playgroup so I don't run it but I agree, the ability to -1 a PW for just 2 life is great. And Theros just spoiled a new card which is just Murder but it also hits Planeswalkers so there ya go. But yes, it's hard for mono black to deal with Planeswalkers aside from Argentum Armor and such.

Hex Paracite! Much bettter version x+Phyrexian black: remove x counters from target permanent.

In addition, Thrull Parasite is in this deck mainly for its Extort ability. You see, this deck is known as a "chisel" deck. One that controls, and then slowly but surely kills an opponent by, as the name implies, chiseling away at their life.

I have to disagree with you on a number of fronts to be honest. I can explain them all if you so wish, but at the moment I'm not very motivated to do so (Scotch will do that). I will say that I quite enjoy the suggestions of Augur of Skulls and Big Game Hunter however, so thank you for those.

On the flip, with all the life you are gaining you could just X: remove x counters from target permanent. It makes use of the re allocated life you steal with the other extorts. So if you are looking at attrition, Hex parasite is CORE! IT murders plainswalkers with ease, makes use of the re allocated life, and presses your advantage
