Deck Description

BGW is the perfect color combination for Aggro-Control. Why? Naya may have burn, we we get:
Tarmogoyf, SFM, Pridemage, Confidant, Tidehollow, Bitterblossom, KotR, and Doran! And can back the up with black disruption and white removal. Your number 1 problem playing with this deck? There isn't room for playsets of everyone!

Deck discussion for [Modern] Aggro Rock

i will say, this does look pretty sick, but why 4 SF?

This is a largely untested list... sort of off the top of my head. In the original list I had 2 goyf and a Jitte, and with 3 equips, you want 4 SFM. I later realized that Jitte was banned though, so I pulled it out for a third goyf. I think your right though, with only 2 equips 4 SFM is a little overkill. I'll try out a third bitter in that slot. I'd also like to fit an EE or two in somewhere if I have room...

I understand the desire for 4 if you have 3 equips,

so how does scavenging ooze do for you?

Ooze rocks. The Modern Dredge deck is pretty slow and fragile as is, and Ooze really takes it to pieces. Beyond that, Ooze is easily pumped in this deck, as I kill or make you discard a TON of dudes. Love him.

Ragged, why are all your decks so appealing to me. I know I rarely comment, but it seems that whenever I look at a deck, there's no real comment to be made. All of your decks seem so solid.

Haha I love the build. +1 (:

And also, if you get a chance, do you mind taking a look at my standstill depths deck? It's one of my few legacy builds, and I think it has serious potential. Sorry to ask,

Thanks :) You know... You could always leave a comment about something you especially liked about a deck... /ego

Seriously, I'd be happy to check it out, but I'll make you a deal. Look up the Player BoredomDecks and rip him a new one on his deck. I was so flabergasted by the way he shrugged off everything I said, I y have no clue how to reply. And then he condesended at me saying that "maybe" I "might have something to contribute" :(

hahahahaha will do!
and from now on, ill specify my exact likings ;P

this one? how it's a modern deck and still looks like a freaking solid legacy deck. I might not know enough about legacy, or magic in general to exactly specify it's weaknesses and strengths, but stoneforge, tarmogoyf AND bob in a deck? you sir know the way to a man's heart. <3

I'm really liking the landbase...I might have to run some of them by the guys for the Extraction design =]

I'm not so sure about using the Fire and Ice. I think Bitterblossum is going to murder the format, so the black protection from Light and Shadow would be invaluable, and the pro white would also save you from nasty white disruption =]

Ethan's right, the deck is almost Legacy fast, and that should be interesting in Modern =P

Thanks! I like my land base a lot too :)

I disagree, bitter is good, but its not going to 'murder' the format. And Pulsing a bitter token is awesome :) And SoFaI is really really good :)

Pulsing is indeed nice, and I've actually pulsed my own tokens for a big Bitter Ordeal hit =P

Maybe it won't "murder", but it's a lot of speed given to a pretty slow format, and that's nasty...

True... That's why I'm running it :D

Noble Hierarch? Chick's golden man =]

I say go for it, Noble opened up a brand new world where mana dorks who could make multiple colours weren't useless.

Also, I really like the deck man, it seems solid as hell, and it has a better aggressive front than a good many legacy decks I've seen(Usually anything with the word stompy in the name, but not running mono-green). My main problem with modern stands though; Hymn to Tourach would take this deck to a whole different level.
