Deck Description

An old EDH deck I have that I want to try out again. My real big issue is graveyard hate of course, not much I can do about that with my general.
I tried to make this more causal like my play group. Looking for advice on what would be good to put in or what should be taken out.

Deck discussion for Birthing Mimeoplasm

Blightsteels doesn't work for this deck sadly, minds crank seems weak as you should have enough juice in your deck to not try to count on random creatures, grave robber over scavenging ooze due to the fact you'd rather have them keep creatures in the yard than exiled, and more mass removal . What about a birthing pod, cycle lands if your running lftl.

First of all, I love The Mimeoplasm and have been contemplating building an EDH deck around him for quite some time, so awesome selection. While I definitely like Birthing Pod in this deck as a complementary piece, obviously the deck's strategy should revolve around your commander, The Mimeoplasm, and not a one-of artifact in the deck. It doesn't seem to but I know it could use better focus on Mimeoplasm's awesomeness. Also, I looked at a dozen-or-so sample hands and didn't seem to have the mana half the time to make this deck run smoothly. If I were building the deck, I would make green the most prominent color to lay a mana-ramp base, followed by black cards to pull off graveyard tricks. And blue should obviously have the smallest prescence, like it does here. In addition to the mana-ramp thing, I'm starting to buy into the strategy of having five-or-more artifact mana dorks in each of my EDH decks as well. Doesn't hurt to have the advantage, after all. Hope this all helps!

Thanks for the advice. I know that mana isn't my strongest here and I want to work on that for sure. My hands have also been a hit or miss. My main plan is to hopefully have birthing pod out but I also want to have my deck run without it if I can't get it out early. I have artifact mana ramp in most of my other EDH decks but I just don't feel like I want them in this deck.
You have any suggestions on what to take out to add more ramp?

Like I said, I think relying on Birthing Pod as even a main plan is too unstable. Sure, it's great as an addition to the deck and it's good to know what you can grab with it when it's out but otherwise the cards in your deck should be geared toward a strategy which compliments Mimeoplasm. As far as cards to take out for your artifact mana rampers, I'd suggest removing the mana sorcery spells and replacing them with artifacts just because they're serving the same purpose anyway and then perhaps a couple of the 5-8 mana cost spells that don't work quite as well with the deck? I've noticed quite a few hands with big things and the inability to play them in a timely manner, so the way to fix that is a little less big things, right? I feel like the mana curve could use a slightly bigger pool in the 1-3 mana cost range to flow better.
