The Image is the obvious combo with LotU, gives himself and all others hexproof as well as boost. Also the emperion was just an idea, any other big artifact creature works just as well.

Swiftfoot Boots are really the only option to protect Lord of the Unreal, and if you're looking for another boost-up card Grand Architect is another option. With his you can use other things like Platimum Emperion. Thats how mine is built. Another thing is that I think there should be a cheaper counterspell, Summoner's Bane is fine but another option I think is necessary. Also, you should have something to move creatures out of the way of your creatures, cards like Vapor Snag are great. Unsummon works too but I like the lose 1 life personally. Levitation is cool but not really necessary in this deck, if you have things like Vapor Snag you don't really need the flying evasion. Mind Unbound is cool as well, but with the illusion deck you really don't want the game to last that long to get to 6 mana. Its really kind of an aggro deck. If you're woried about your creatures not all being illusions because of subbing in Grand Architect and Platinum Emperion, Xenograft will help with that. It will also help protect the Lord of the Unreal. These are all just things to consider. I think the deck looks solid now, theres just a few things I would consider revising personally. But overall, nice deck. I hope I helped!

I think some more discard would work in here too, Despise and stuff like that. Look at Blind Zealot too, check out my black control deck!

I really like this deck, I have one with almost the same concept. I use mana producing elves to build up Omnath, Locus of Mana to atleast 30 to play Spawnsire of Ulamog and use his ultimate ability bringing out all the Eldrazi in my sideboard. If that does't work, I play Overwhelming Stampede, which is insane with Omnath because he gets HUGE with Quest for Renewal(which I see you have, very nice!) One of my friends has a deck exactly like this, he threw in Berserk though for that extra punch. It works insanely well.
I did make quite a few changes, I still left a few Splinter Twins for the Myr Battlesphere(which I think is brilliant) and Myr Galvanizer. Thanks for all the help! Tell me if theres anything else I should change.
