Am I missing something, or is your kill condition a couple of 2/2s (well, there's a 2/3 there, too). You might consider trying to work in some sort of fattie (2 copies of it) to finish off your opponent. That way, after you drop a Damnation, you can follow it up with something big that will put pressure on your opponent. Consider Desolation Angel since you'll have Crucible of Worlds (thought probably not the best suggestion), even Sengir Vampire would be good as he'd get bigger for a few turns while you finish off your opponent. Otherwise, the basic control is here. The drawback, however, is that you're splitting the type of control. You might find you'll have better luck if you focus more on creature and hand removal. Sinkhole, while great, does nothing for you later in the game when losing one land won't matter. Instead, consider adding in Duress or Chainer's Edict to help keep the board clear so that your 2/2s can become more of a serious threat, or so that a larger add (like suggested) can get online without anything in it's way. If you can't afford the Glimpses, consider adding in Jace's Erasure and Brain Freeze. Both of those will help you mill some cards. You might also consider some early defenders in the form of Fog Bank or Will-o-the-Wisp, Dark Ritual, also, to accelerate your Scalpelexis, Haunting Echoes, Traumatize, and even Circu. Tormod's Crypt would also be a solid sideboard add in the event your opponent plays recursion. If you're looking for an alternate kill condition, consider adding in a couple Dark Supplicants and one Scion of Darkness. It's always fun casting a 6/6 for free on turn 2 (rare, but possible). Also consider Consume Spirit over Death Grasp just for the casting cost. It's the same thing, pretty much, but it's 1 colorless and one black as opposed to BW, might be cheaper at times, or ideal to save a white for a Swords to Plowshares if you so desire to add those later, as well. I would strongly suggest the Urza's lands (Powerplant, Mine, and Tower) to help fuel your Eldrazi faster. Temple of the False God could also be a consideration here. Each of these lands produce more than one per tap when certain conditions are met, but once they start firing, you'd be amazed at how quick things will hit the table. You can pick up Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth on eBay for like $8 a piece, I just got a couple. You just have to dig a little and use the shipping and handling price as your deal breaker. But yeah, that card alone would pretty much make the deck. Nightmare Lash could be a consideration here, as well. Entomb, Exhume, Buried Alive? All of these are staples in most reanimator decks. Swamp, Ritual, Entomb, Exhume on turn one will get you stomping early. Consider Akroma, Angel of Wrath just for that opportunity. I welcome any comments and criticism you can offer to any of the decks I have posted here (just click on my name to see the deck list). Then why not Gaea's Cradle? No reason that shouldn't be here with that strat in mind. Add in Crop Rotation to ensure that the Cradle gets out, too. It's EDH, you can only have 1 of any card except for basic land.
Tormod's Crypt after removing Squee will make him disappear, but I imagine that he's playing more than one. With that in mind, all that's coming to me are cards like Extract and Jester's Cap to just flat out remove them from his deck (this would mean splashing blue, though Jester's Cap is an artifact). Otherwise, Nevinyrral's Disk or Oblivion Stone can be used to clear the board, but that means for you, too. Tormod's Crypt and Rat's Feast can keep his GY empty so that he can't use Squee. Otherwise, splash green via Tainted Wood and Verdant Catacombs to use Naturalize.
Nice build. I was going to suggest Rituals but I really don't know what you'd remove to make room for them. Nice job! I welcome any comments and criticism on any of the decks that I have posted here (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks in advance!
Necropotence is the 3rd best drawing engine (card) in the game (behind Ancestral Knowledge and, surprise, Contract From Below). Quite arguably the most dominant black card of all time. Necropotence takes the simple equation of "one card = one life" and turns it on its head. Once you play Necropotence, the remaining cards you'll see the rest of the game depend wholly on your life total. That's why you use Drain Life, Corrupt, Soul Burn, and Zuran Orb to make sure you have plenty of cards to draw. You can pay 15 life in one turn to draw 15 cards, there is no limit to how often you use it in one turn, so factor in life gain and it's one of the most over powered cards ever printed.
Here's a few suggestions: Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth Sol Ring Black Mana Battery Cabal Ritual Syphon Life Exsanguinate Necropotence Demonic Tutor Nevinyrral's Disk Will-o-the-Wisp
This is almost identical to the first deck I built back in the day. It's amazing how new players always think the same thing. While black has been my favorite color, take a look at my "Black Hole" deck listed here on the site. I remember opening a pack of Ice Age back in the day and pulling Necropotence and saying, "This card is garbage, why would I want to skip my draw phase." Well, that lasted only for so long and I was able to get Necros from friends for cheap. Then they hated me.... Good time! If you like this, or want criticize me further, feel free to take a look at my other decks. Insight is always appreciated.
You can accomplish virtually the same thing with G/U, using the Wirewood Channeler with Pemmin's Aura for infinite mana. Take a look at my Wirewood Aura deck, I do just that with a couple of win conditions (Kamahl, Ghitu Fire, or Braingeyser). Blue will also allow you to splash Compulsion and Flash of Insight which will allow you fantastic card draw with the Channeler/Aura combo. You might be a bit overkill on land, here. You might be able to drop the count down to 20 with a couple of Sparazzan Skerry's to help things along. Also, consider Howling Mines or Jace Beleren to help your mill idea out. Erasure is a great card, but you need a way to ramp it a bit so they're losing more than 1 every turn. Brain Freeze could be an incredibly beneficial addition, as well. I was kind of wondering the same thing. Looks like it takes a while for the deck to get up online. With that said, consider adding in some Swords to Plowshares or Pacifism to help stall. Holy Day is a nice add, here, but with only 2 I doubt you have one when you really need it. Also, look towards some artifact tappers (like Sol Ring and Fellwar Stone) to give you some acceleration to make casting those bigger giants faster. And lastly, I'd really question buying repacks from that place again. I don't think your repack was 'random' in any sense of the word. Being 6 cards over 60, and having nothing with a larger CC of 3, I'd consider dropping 2 swamps and at least one of each of the walls. Ideally you're looking for the game to be over before you 'need' the walls, so instead look for perhaps some equips or other black pump to make that happen. Otherwise, I've always loved me some Dauthi! I welcome any comments or criticism you can offer on any of the decks that I have posted here (just click on my name to see the deck list). This might sound harsh, but I don't mean it to be, but.... If you're trying to get CoP:A, Dingus Egg, and Armageddon rolling, you need to really try to consolidate the deck down to 60 cards and add in a tremendous amount of acceleration. Here is what I suggest. Obviously you need to keep those 3 cards, but consider the necessity of what else is here. Disenchant might be best in a sideboard, Lat-Nam's is pretty worthless, Reverse Damage is perhaps too expensive, and your counter count is very high. Instead, consider removing U all together and focus on the goal at hand. Sol Ring is a necessary card with this build, it will help you accelerate a Dingus Egg onto the table and always give you a source to pay for the CoP. Pacifism will help keep you protected, as would Arrest. Consider adding in some walls to hold the line while you set up, Wall of Reverence, Wall of Glare, even Wall of Swords can help with this. And lastly, Enlightened Tutor NEEDS to be in this deck. Considering you are hinging your deck on an artifact and an enchantment, the Tutor needs to be in place to get you one or the other. In the meantime, a couple walls and Ghostly Prison in place of AEther Storm will help stall your opponent as things get online. Keep Swords to Plowshares, and also consider Wing Shards to help stall if walls and Swords aren't enough. Lastly, remember that if you have multiple Dingus Eggs in play, you have to pay the CoP cost for each Dingus. Each Egg is considered a different source, so having artifact tappers available to you will help you prevent most of the damage all of the time. Really questioning the Masticore. I know why you chose it, but being 'forced' to discard every turn can hurt madness instead of having the 'option' to discard every turn. I would also STRONGLY suggest Quiet Speculation; it allows you to throw your Roars into the graveyard ASAP, which in turn allows you to get a 6/6 on the table on turn 4. In terms of land, U/G fetch wouldn't hurt here. City of Brass is an option, too. In 2003, a U/G Madness deck took 4th at Worlds. Amazingly, nothing in the deck was too rare and it is incredibly easy to build. I did, and I was shocked at how well it actually played. In fact, I kept the deck list and still use the deck on occasion because it's a blast. If you're looking for something a little more effective, take a look at it (search: David Humphreys ug madness). I appreciate any comments or criticism that you can offer any of the decks I have posted here (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks in advance!
You could consider replacing U with R for Assault Strobe, Teetering Peaks, and Smoldering Spires. R/G is capable of a turn 3 kill, turn 2 with Mox Opals. Blue just doesn't really offer you any real threats, Vault Skyward and Distortion Strike aren't nearly as powerful pump. Even Prey's Vengeance would be a better alternative to either.
