Looks very fun. Are you married to the Reckoner and willing to spend one more mana? Ogre Battledriver might fit in here. He doesn't make tokens, but he buffs and gives them haste. If they have the horse that you give them, you get a 3/1 blocker on their turn. To me, that's a damn strong chumper.

Pacifism seems kind of out of place here, but I definitely shuts down almost everything except Stormbreath Dragon. Hive Stirrings makes Sliver tokens, so there's that option.

Just my thoughts!

Looks quick and nasty. Well done.

Personally, I'd replace Dreadbore with Hero's Downfall (if it's within your budget). Reason being is that it's instant speed and this deck is definitely geared for speed. It costs an extra mana, I know, but I don't think that'll really slow this deck down.

I'd also mainboard the Slaughter Games, too. Thoughtseize with that card is stupid amazing. And, these mono-blue and Esper control decks aren't going to be able to touch it. I was testing out my Rakdos deck today against a mono-black deck and was able to lock them down (most of the time) because I either A.) exiled their key cards with Slaughter Games (their creatures consisted of Nightveil Specter, Desecration Demon, Pack Rat, and Gray Merchant), or B.) kept the board clear with kill cards. It's really easy to do when you see their entire hand AND their entire deck and pick out key cards.

Check it out. Might give you some ideas: http://www.mtgvault.com/scottymandingo/decks/rakdoss-return-to-standard/

Hell yes. I also love budget decks that are fun to play AND in Standard.

I'll probably build this and play around with it. Personally, I'll most likely add two Encroaching Wastes for some extra fun.

Well done, sir.

Looks pretty good!

With all this removal and countering, I think it would be good to either give the cyclops double strike or to make it unblockable. The only red card that gives double strike is Armed (to which the other side is green).

What about Aqueous Form? Unblockable and let's you draw.

Awesome. Paying one less for more damage is always a good thing! :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, I'll probably mainboard the Shock's and the Skullcracks... see how that goes. Reckoner is a good idea.

I'll check your deck out later today.

Hey Poet, could you go check out the Mono Red deck I just made? (Tom Ross's one) I want to try and make some changes and would like your advice.

How about Ethereal Armor? Enchantment on an enchantment is great! :)

Lots of card draw. I like it.

What about Advent of the Wurm instead of Armada Wurm? Instant speed, quite a bit cheaper, and you get (basically) the same thing.

Ahh, I see where you got your suggestions for my red deck haha!

I was testing mine (which is very similar to yours) and played against an Izzet deck with lots of control/counters, burn, and a Nivix Cyclops that he gave a bunch of buffs and double strike which I could do nothing about. The only thing that I could do would be to Mizzium Mortars it if I was able to. Otherwise, I was dead.

What could we do against something like that?

That mono red deck. I actually made one and was going to build it for the next FNM. I just love red. :)

Would you mind taking a look at my mono red deck? I'm not good at building decks, so be gentle. :P

Yeah, I could try trading at a FNM or something. Some of the shops I go to might trade as well.

Have you had a chance to play this?

Excellent. Might steal a few ideas for a Selesnya deck I want to build. Any suggestions for swapping out Voice? I don't want to pay billions of dollars for a few cards. :P

Okay. Check out my deck for some ideas. I just played it against a Selesnya midrange and won it 2-1. It's pretty nasty. :)

I like this a lot. Very similar to mine and you gave me some good ideas! :)

What I see common with these types of decks (mine too), is that we have no way of dealing with gods once they are out.

I was thinking of completely splashing white or green in the sideboard for either Fade Into Antiquity or Angelic Edict to get rid of them. Might help out with yours as well. What do you think?
