How well might Dissipate fit in this deck, perhaps in place of Mana Leak? Would it work, or would it be too expensive?
Yes, DoJ would kill the Crusader. As I pointed out before, there's that lovely acronym. DESTROY is not part of that acronym, so any global destroy would kill the Crusader.
The Crusader would actually survive. There's an acronym which details what Protection will cover: DEBT (Damage, Enchant/Equip, Block, Target). Pyroclasm and Slagstorm both DAMAGE, so they in fact can't touch the Crusader.
I would like to say that old Elspeth can be kinda hard to find, so yeah... But keep an eye out for Angelic Benediction.
Beast Within concerns me. The only way this deck would get any use out of it is against Planeswalkers. I'd run it SB and use Go For The Throat or Doom Blade instead.
Memoricide and Surgical for use against Solar Flare?
How much of a difference would it make if you ran 3 Go For The Throat and 3 Doom Blade?
Time for a seemingly inconsequential comment compared to the others... I might replace one Razorverge with an additional Forest.

It looks to me like you need a sideboard. What do you see in your metagame?
Except I didn't use Guide, because I could never find any.
But I might use Traitorous Blood instead of Act of Treason in SB. For virtually the same cost, you get the same effect plus Trample.
I love it. I had something similar while Zendikar was standard, and I'm trying to revise it and make it standard.
A word of advice: if Rafiq is your general, move him from your main deck to the sideboard for listing purposes here.
I might include Dissipate somewhere, whether it be in the sideboard or mainboard.
What about Dissipate instead of Cancel?
I might find a way to add Angelic Benediction, and cut the Birds for Noble Hierarch. Also, WHERE ARE YOUR ELSPETHS?
Seems to me you could use some removal. I would also recommend Hinterland Harbor.
Galvanic Blast instead of Lightning Bolt.
