Deck Description

Grenzo, Dungeon Warden EDH Deck

Base dealing + Infinite instant win combos! What more do you need?!

How to Play

The primary goal is to get Grenzo onto the field with at least a 4-5 power. Over 75% of the creatures in the deck are power 4 or less, over 85% are power 5 or less. A Grenzo with 6 power would allow you to flip into play any creature in the deck save one, Kozilek, who's primary function is to reshuffle milled cards back into the deck when he himself goes to the graveyard .

There are 33 total creatures in the deck (not counting Koz or Grenzo) so you have about a 1 in 3 chance of coming across a creature card when using Grenzo. The early game should be dedicated to cycling through the deck as fast as possible to get mana artifacts, land ramp and scry cards etc. Don't hesitate to toss large creatures with the rummaging goblin, Daretti and wheel/reforge as there are several cards that will allow you to put them back on the bottom of the library later. If you can get Grenzo out on turn 3 or 4 with a 4-6 power you can use any spare mana last phase to do his ability but the primary function should be to increase your mana base to 6-8. This should allow you to both play spells you draw and power scry effects while still having some left over for last phase base dealing.

Tips:
Early Tutor targets,

Sol Ring-
No explanation needed.

Crucible of Worlds-
Fantastic card that will essentially allow you to play a land card nearly every turn for the rest of the game with all the land Grenzo leaves in the graveyard. And of course if you have a strip mine or fetch land this is a no brainer.

Cloak and Dagger-
If you can get this card out before Grenzo it will be a huge benefit. While increasing his power means you will have to spend less mana on his initial (and futures casts) it also has the added benefit of making him un-targetable, not to mention it's free to equip onto Grenzo since he is a rogue.

Crystal Ball-
Very nice card for cycling off cards you don't need and once Grenzo hits the field any creatures that come up simple go to the bottom and are base dealt into play.

Soldevi Digger-
Combos really well with Grenzo and any sacrifice and/or discard outlet.

Ashnod's Altar-
Powers several infinity combos in the deck as well as providing a free sacrifice outlet.

Burnished Hart-
Great land ramp card that combos very well with any of the various bottom tuck cards in the deck. It won't take long to get all of the basic land out of the deck and into play.

Play tips:

Make judicious use of shuffle effects-
Keep in mind that every tutor card and every land fetch card requires a shuffle after their use. This can be both a boon and a bother. Make a mental note if you know you have creatures on the bottom of the deck to hold off on using a card that ends in a shuffle unless it is absolutely necessary. Conversely, don't be afraid to save a card that requires a shuffle when you have non-creature cards in the graveyard that you want another shot at drawing. There is nothing wrong with using the digger/dredger/troller on tutors or even mana artifacts you want another shot at drawing. With all the cycling effects in this deck you have a decent chance of getting them back.

RED ALERT!
These cards sink this deck if left out on the board for any amount of time. When they appear all efforts need to be made to get rid of them.

Linvala, Keeper of Silence
Very annoying commander you may come up against although, depending on your group, you may find other players just as eager to be rid of her as you are. This deck has several good direct and indirect solutions to get rid of her that will get around the standard white protection methods.

Torpor Orb
This deck relies heavily on ETB triggers so this card is very annoying. If you know this card is floating around in your meta it may be a good idea to keep the Chaos Warp handy. There isn't much else in this deck that can deal with this card if a darksteel forge is out, so be wary.
