Think you'll bring back the bird. I've a green deck with 4 elf and 4 utopia. The first of them often fall to Bolt, kozilek, thoughseize, etc. The 9th dork is a cannon fodder and not just for constancy. Feel like 11 cards with 5-6 cmc seem a lot if ramping is harder. Also, what about cut 1 baloth and add 1 huntmaster ?

Good luck and happy testing.

I highly suggest that you add more ramp to hit 3 mana turn 2. 8 ramp spells is a little bit low. Ponza work at best when you can drop blood moon at turn 2 constantly. 10 ramp spells is required to do that at 75% of time. 9 ramp at 70%. Less is less. Otherwise you will miss your turn 2 too often and good deck will make you pay for that.

Rancor cost max 2$. Your budget must be very low.

Cut 4 frenzy and add 4 rancors. Much better and still budget.

Not a big fan of bloodghast either. Yeah sometimes it will work with collective brutality. But I think Gifted Aetherborn is a better 2 cmc. Bloodghast must cost 0 to be good. And target yourself with a Kozilek suck.

Maybe some Expedion Map if you decide to play Arena, Urborg and Nykthos.

Honestly I am not a big fan of Gary. 5 cmc for something with unstable results...I would play Kalitas, traitor of Ghet instead. Like 2 copy. Or Fulminator Mage.

Sideboard : Leyline of the void. Work well with Nykthos too.

I also suggest to find some cards vs Burn. Discard strategy just don't work well if you face it.

Fetchlands + fatal push
Arena with Obliterator
Nykthos with everything

Thank for your comment it's appreciate. Indeed, all your suggested cards are viable option. I think Wilt-Leaf worth a try. At least 2 at the beginning. As for Khalni Hydra, in my opinion, this great card combo better with green tokens deck and instant card with hexproof effect. Without a Nikthos, and the current meta heavily charged on spot removal and land removal, Khalni might stand forever in my hand. Primalcrux and aspect of hydra are amongst the best " surprise effet " mono green as to offer. I bought them months ago and forgot to try them both lol.

Nice list. If you can find a way to add the first strike ability with Stromkirk Captain / Vampiric Fury your deck can only be stronger. I've a R/B vampire legacy here if you're interested : http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=338536

4 X Dragonskull Summit will really help you. Look for Vampiric Fury also, it can really finish a game for only 2cmc. I've a R/B legacy vampire deck here, I think you'll like it : http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=338536

Hi,

Bloodcrank deck, are in fact Burn deck, the mindcrank combo being only your second win condition. I know it's a great combo and everything, but the odds you burn your opponent before bloodchief ascension is activated + mindcrank is on the table, are greater anyway.

Also, no white splash. Black and red are enough. Less protection, but more speed.

Hope it help !

- 2 Iname, Death Aspect.

This card is too slow. Against most decent deck, you'll be dead before turn 6 anyway.

-2 Swamps

Mono-black, 20 lands is enough and you need space.

-3 Rotting Rats

2cmc, Putrid Imp instead for 1cmc allow you to discard anything right away. Like a Bloodghast that you can bring back for free on the battlefield by turn 2.

-4 Vampire Hexmage

Useless. 4 Dark Ritual or Culling the Weak can give you the chance to play your 1st Demigod faster, and kill your opponent by turn 3 or 4 instead of 5-7.

Hi,

I suggest few Buried Alive or Entomb. It's useless to play your 1st Demigod of Revenge from your hand if you can't bury 2-3 DoR from your library before. Well, that's my opinion.

Hi.

You need cards that allow you to draw but they are costly.

But, for a cheap price, you can play theses :

- Canopy Cover

Will protect your creatures vs creature removal.

- Mesa Enchantress

Cheap draw engine.

-Silhana Ledgewalker

Hexproof and almost unblockable...once enchanted it's a killer.

Why no Daybreak Coronet ?

Yeah, Nocturnus is expensive, and because of his ability, you can't splash too much Red. And if some cards help to increase the odds, like Sensei's Divining Top or Volrath's Stronghole, their are all expensive too. Unless you play with Viscera Seer, and then maybe you'll want to add few Bloodghasts and Kalastria Highborn.

So...yes Nocturnus can be a real killer, but a costly one :) I like the *gambling* part that's why I play with this vampire. Otherwise, CORRBentOrgy suggestion is fine too, and less costly. Your choice.

Anyway, 4 Stromkirk Captain and 4 Vampiric Fury, are in my opinion, a safe value for any R/B budget vamp deck.
