Deck Description

There was once a little known deck type referred to as Denial, but with the creation of EDH, and its large dependence of generals, this deck type saw a huge surge. The strategy became so effective that cards like Karakas were banned, and the "Tuck Rule" was implemented.

How to Play

The idea of Denial is simple, if they play their general (or anything else important) exile it. If it comes back, get rid of it again. Eventually the resources needed for your opponent to return the cards he needs will be far greater than what it takes for you to just get rid of them again, effectively crippling his deck.

This deck takes it one step further. Amass tokens as fast as you can, get to that special 50 life threshold, and start exiling anything that looks at you funny. Because opposing creatures are being exiled, there's very little chance for your opponent to recover from the altered board state.

Deck discussion for Neverwhere

Return to Dust maybe? You can't rely on your Commander either, you know.
No Nihil Spellbomb and no Bojuka Bog!? Both are exiling stuff en masse and are basically for free.
Creature selection needs a bit of work, I'll be on to that later, it's Steak & Blowjob Day :)

* Voracious Hatchling: Takes too long to become worthwhile and even then it's just a lifelinker. I'd play Grey Merchant of Asphodel instead. Sure, the lifegain is one-shot, but it also deals considerate amounts of damage. More importantly, you get both as an CIP-effect, so it doesn't matter what happens to him afterwards. Voracious Hatchling will do nothing in most cases because the opponent has enough opportunities to get rid of it before it does any good.
Oh and Grey Merchant is a sick, sick combo with Mimic Vat!

* Launch the Fleet: I think this is unecessary. You have enough creatures and ways to produce tokens. Moreover, this only works if you have already a good amount of creatures (and it requires them to risk their life in combat). I really think you should replace this with something else, probably removal that doesn't target (your deck, as it is, has problems with hexproofers for example). I especially question the absence of Living Death - since you exile so much, the All Hallow's Eve part of Living Death should be a pretty lopsided affair.

* Mortician Beetle: Yeah, it's cute and all but I don't see why you would play something like this as a one-drop over, say, Mother of Runes or Soul Warden.

* Pawn of Ulamog: It only triggers if NON-TOKEN creatures die, so I don't think it's worth adding.

* Tidehollow Sculler: This is pretty weak! Nothing you play in EDH will stay in play for long (and a toughness 2 artifact creature dies to a million things) so the benefit of it is just slightly more than taking a glimpse at the opponent's hand. My suggested replacement for this is either Sin Collector or Lifebane Zombie if you want hand destruction on a stick.

* Cartel Aristocrat: Sure, you have plenty of tokens you can sacrifice but I don't see why it would be worth protecting a silly 2/2 that has no other ability. I don't have a suggestion in the cc2 bracket but for just one mana more you could run Flesh Carver which seems like a natural choice for this deck! And at 4 mana you get Hell's Caretaker (which could also replace Pawn of Ulamog).

* I don't like Abhorrent Overlord. Doesn't do enough for what he costs and to be honest, you'd be better off with some utility instead of yet another token producer. List of possible replacements:
- Rune-Scarred Demon
- Purity
- Sheoldred
- Reiver Demon
Of which I would go with Rune-Scarred. Costs the same as the Overlord, is also 6/6 flying but has a Demonic Tutor instead of more tokens. If you really need more tokens, he can fetch you a token producer, but he can also fetch anything else. And I bet you'll tutor for something else in about 90% of all cases.

I totally forgot Bojuka, so thanks for that one. Now let's go through the creature suggestions.

Voracious Hatchling -- I can dig this change. Grey Merchant isn't as cool in my mind as Hatchling, at least art-wise, but I can't disagree that it's just better for the deck in a lot of ways. It's also a zombie, which helps with the count.

Launch the Fleet -- I think I agree with you on this one as well. Especially since you brought up the need for other ways around Hexproof. I'm going to put Glaring Spotlight in it's place.

Mortician Beetle -- This little guy is one of my favorite creature cards in the game. I'll have to do more testing to see if he's worth it over Soul Warden or not, but I feel like he could get pretty big. We'll see with this one.

Pawn of Ulamog -- I have to disagree with you on this. Yes, this is a token deck in a lot of ways, but it also features a number of non-tokens, and Pawn serves as a sort of insurance for that. Kill one of my guys? Well now I have another fodder token to exile one of yours. It's just good utility in my mind.

Tidehollow Sculler -- This happens to be my all time favorite zombie, so when I started to shift towards a zombie theme for the recursion and tokens I put him in. Also, this deck was once an Alesha, who smiles at Death EDH, and I think a few things got lost in the transition. This was one of them. Amazing for Alesha, not so for this.

Cartel Aristocrat -- This is another leftover. The Alesha deck was going to be a Human tribal with a lot of sacrifice-based effects (I still might re-make it). CA was a great engine for that since the sacrifice came with no additional cost. The evasion was also really nice, and still is honestly, for a little chip damage. I think Hell's Caretaker might work better though. This deck has a lot of mana value with all the tokens and denial, so I'm not so concerned about bumping up my mana curve as I would be with a different deck.

Abhorrent Overlord -- I halfway disagree with you on this. He's really good, and tokens are tokens. That said, I do agree with you that I could probably benefit more from something else. I'm choosing Sheo here only because Tidehollow will be replaced with Rune-Scarred. Again, it's a step up in my mana curve, but I think it's well worth it for the recursion and the utility of finding stuff. Plus, together those two are a little like cheating.

So here's the problem now, I really, really agree with you about Living Death. I forgot about that card and damn it would be sexy for this deck. I just don't know what I'd take out for it.

I really appreciate you taking the time to look at this man, this is the kind of feedback I love to see.

What to cut for Living Death? Since it also brings back your creatures you could cut on one of the many reanimation cards you have. My pick would be the Oversold Cemetary - you have so much recursion that it'll be hardto activate, also, it has bad synergy with Living Death.

Mortician Beetle: Let's put it this way, I had him once in my Sacrifice/Squee deck but it was among the first I had to replace. It wasn't bad but I needed room for better stuff. But, if it was a choice of heart, then please keep this little bugger!
BTW, if you haven't done it in the past, you might want to check out said Squee deck because it has s strong sacrifice theme as well, there might be a few ideas in it:

Ok, just got back from a long vacation, so I just saw this. I tried out LE in place of Cemetery and it works like a charm, and by charm, I mean an absolute bomb. If I set it up correctly and wipe out their side of the field via exiles, I load up my 'yard and then drop LE either that turn if we're at "Battle Cruiser" stage of EDH (As in, shit loads of mana available) or drop it next turn and carry an insane amount of momentum.

Yeah, I'm going to keep the bug. It holds a special place in my heart oddly enough. The deck that really first got me noticed on here is my Black Sacrifice deck, and he's one of the hardest hitters in that deck.

I'll take a look at your deck as soon as I can =]

Denial is about as close as you can get to extraction in EDH, yeah. It's a blast.
