+1/+1 Counter Deck. Very much a work in progress, just wanted to put some ideas on paper. Others I am considering are Apocalypse Hydra, Avenger of Zendikar, Chorus of the Conclave, Retaliator Griffin, Solarion, Vinelasher Kudzu, Vigor. Probably also need some destroy creature/Oblivion Rings, especially in the case of a Kulrath Knight or something. This would be, understandably, a casual-play deck. Comments are welcome.

Quite good. You really want mana excel for hydras to be truley furious - but im not sure what would suit you. try a llanowar elvers, or birds of paradise. Also, some more photohydra - one of the best cards - and maybe withstand death - stop them doomblading your photohydra!

I'm trying out asceticism instead of withstand death, I'll repost later to see how it does. I also am aware that this needs more mana ramp, but I'm struggling with what to take out in order to put it in...thanks for the comment!
Here's some ideas that might make this deck better. cards to take out .contagion engine- the proliferate is nice, but you should be getting counters from their own abilities, so this isn't needed. also you would more than likely need the mana to play more creatures. .ulasht, the hate seed- It doesn't fit well for a deck like this, though you may give it counters, it still won't have as many as compared to using it in a token deck. .hamlet back goliath- way to expensive, especially since you don't have much mana acceleration. .ascetism- I prefer priviledged position than this. Cards to add birds of paradise- a must for decks like this priviledged position- I prefer this card than ascetism. you may not regenerate, but your creatures are big so it shouldn't be a problem, and this protects your mayael's aria. add 3 more bramblewood paragon- trample is a must for this deck. I would prefer using primal rage since its an enchantment, but thats up to you. more phytohydras-they're just amazing. other cards to think about keeper of progenitus-if you want more mana however this is a double-edged sword since it's a world effect. Mirari's wake- for one more mana, it does the same effect as keeper of progenitus but only for you and gives your creatures +1/+1 plus its an enchantment. predatory urge- a fun enchantment, it goes great in combination with phytohydra or protean hydra if you can give +1 to toughness, burn and quickly buff up your creature.
