Deck Description

My first EDH/Commander deck, decided to go back to my old playstyle of horde decks with a rat deck.

The trick with this deck is to try to get as many rats out as quickly as possible, preferably with the Coat of Arms out to make them HUGE.

Commander is Marrow-Gnawer, he doubles your rats each turn and gives them all fear. Combined with Coat of Arms, this means a ton of +10/+10 rats within just 2 turns, if not sooner with the Lab Rats in play.

There's also Balthor in this deck, when late into the game and you need to pull a ton of rats quickly, sac him for your entire graveyard returning to the field

Deck discussion for Rats: THEY'RE F***ING RELENTLESS! (EDH/Commander)

Hmm, haven't seen this before; not too shabby.

it's been running pretty well so far, given that I can put enough mana down early I can amass a good handful of rats pretty quickly.

Only issue I'm having is one with getting the Coat of Arms out...I'm hoping to swap out the Spread the Sickness for a Demonic Tutor, but at the end of the day it's still extremely hard to pull it out early on.

I'm aware there's another card that has a similar effect as it but I have no clue what it is offhand...

Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Intent, and Planar Portal... are all great for EDH

This would all replace the excess Relentless Rats, which you apparently can only have one of. Since your deck is supposed to be 99 cards, put the general in the sideboard. It will allow the draw simulator to work properly.

I'm not sure on that, I've asked around about that and from what I've been told the rules on the card overrule the format rule unless otherwise noted

Yeah, from what I've heard, it's otherwise noted.

"This card's text does not override other format-imposed restrictions on the number of cards. For example, in a Highlander format, you would still only be allowed one Relentless Rat."
