I may have cracked the code for a viable mono black attrition deck in the current metagame! Wtiches, Faerie, Grudge. In the recent months the only Gardens lists to go 5-0 are either very wild and experimental or run Cuombajj Withces in the sideboard as a sledgehammer against 1/1s and 2/1s of all varieties, be they goblins, humans, glutenous faeries, flying fucking rats, or racist elves.NO HUNTER! I don't like his face. Don't like the initiative. Genuinely feel icky playing hunter. Not a fan.There are reasons to forgo hunter besides vibes, however. You don't need to win, you just need to not lose, winning happens inevitably and accidentally. Your removal, mana base, sustain, and your opponent's patience all serve double duty as win conditions (Blade, Troll, Campfire).You can only play the hunter when already winning, in the current metagame we have enough trouble getting to such a spot, I would rather make sure we get there than win in 3 turns once there.
18 maindeck removal spells kind of say it all. In the current metagame you'd need at least one more creature worth returning, some builds go much lower to the ground with Shambling Ghast & 4 trolls as the main win condition. Either that or a different metagame where essentially having 6 rats for the price of 3 is really really good.
