Deck Description

Okay,

If you got better cards tell me.

Quirion ranger, one of the best elf cards in mtg, add one green mana then return forest to your hand, play the forest again if you didn't play land this turn then untap, Joraga Treespeaker to give 2 mana, Llanowar Elves for 1 mana, Imperious perfect for 1 elf token or even rhys for 2 tokens, sounds good eh?

I have, 18 lands as mana sources 16 elves as mana sources 2 of these bring me lands, so i have 34 mana sources in my deck, and the combo when i make tokens and level one Joraga Treespeaker to lvl 5 all my tokens have ability to produce 2 mana.

I can make token's with Imperious Perfect and with Rhys the Redeemed.

Copperhorn Scout gives a chance to make more mana, more tokens, even if it kills the Scout it's still the easily worth it.

If you think there's no place for that huge amount of mana you're wrong. I can always level up Joraga treespeaker to get all of my elves gain ability to give more mana.

Rampant growth gives more lands awesome eh?

Ascetism protects me from lightnin' bolts or doom blades. Naturalize is very good card to have against lot of decks.

And Green Sun's Zenith is just obvious, pay 2 mana get rhys the redeemer or quirion ranger or any elf you need!

Comment's please!

Deck discussion for Elves and Tokens 3.0

Maybe Elvish promenade would help. My friend runs a very similar deck and that card messes me up a lot. Drove of elves would work really well in this deck also, and then you could use an overwhelming stampede to pump all of your creatures by drove of elves' power. I think that would work rather well. :)

Nice deck! A few tweaks here and there, all you need to do is play test it!!!
Check out my deck! tell me what you think!!

i would toss elvish guidance in, that way when you drop the warcaller(s) you can have them pumped to amounts that if one elf connects, its gg

It's about the same speed if I produce mana let's say joraga treespeaker, and level it up when i have copperhorn scout in play and also like imperious perfect to make tokens, when i have 3 tokens i and treespeaker at lvl 5 i can get 3 X 2 mana for just tokens + forests and other elves i got nearly 11 mana easily to kick warcaller 5 times.

as far as elves go, it tends to be the more the merrier lol mana can always be dumped into something, why kick him 5 times when you can kick him 8 or ten? or as my brothers edh deck does it seventeen thousand times (combo of elvish guidance, the tree speaker, and elvish archdruid) something else you could look at is oracle of nectars if you need to have a buffer ever (which combos well with guidance and archdruid) you could also use mana reflection, if that better suits what you are doing
also if you end up having the mana and want to troll, sword of the paruns +rhys = more than one double per turn + parallel lives= table flip lol

doubling chant would just be nasty in here getting out tons of elves,, and then strength of the tajuru to make them huge, and ezuri renegade leader for trample.

I like what you have going so far. I think there's a few things you could use to go a little farther. When using elf tapping style decks you really have to protect your valuable assets (Immaculate Magistrate, Rhys). You may want to throw in some of the new hexproof instants from Avacyn, Sheltering Word.

You have quite a bit of mana ramping, but I don't really see the end game of where all this mana is going except for Warcaller. A lot of your mana ramping can be accomplished with Arbor Elves and Elvish Guidance and Elvish Archdruid. Craterhoof Behemoth is a good creature to ramp up to since it has a game finishing mechanic to it. I would move it directly into the deck.

I would switch Harmonize out for the Naturalize. In almost any game I find enchantments and artifacts to be a bigger hindrance than hand size. Especially when they've included a nice new enchant, Triumph of Ferocity, which will give you an extra card every turn if you control the biggest creature *cough*WhatGreenDoes*cough*.

I usually recommend Elvish Promenade, but another fun combo is Parallel Lives with Rhys.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys.

I find this really helpful, I'm not so similar to build an elf deck but i want to give it a try:)

Yeah that elvish promenade is great, funny that I didn't find it my self.

If you think there's too much mana ramping, it just gives me 3 mana on turn 2 in almost every single hand you have, and i love it that way.

For real mana ramping run Abor elves instead of Llanowar elves. Same cost but better effect

Stick in wild growth as well

Wild Growth gives you one mana and the arbor elf gives you one but they link up like an Urzatron for more mana. Use the Quillion elf to untap the arbor elf to double again.

It's just as fast in the early rounds but a lot more mana in the later rounds

You need 2-4 asceticism. Hexproof and regenerate. So blocking, doom blade and lightining bolt can't even kill them.

Yeah, it's better than shletering word, when i have more mana so i can play easily 5 cmc cards.

Thanks dude, really helpful.

And/or if you have out a lot of creatures, beastmaster ascension.

Dude this deck seems pretty strong. My friend has an elf deck built around Rhys and tokens, very strong. Just a suggestion, throw in a Caged Sun if you can find a way to work it in. Your elves recieve a +1/+1 and your lands tap for double. It's a great card for any token deck.

Also since you seem to build some pretty beast token decks, mind checking mine out? I've rebuilt it like 20 times and am just never satisfied but I would love your opinion on it. I would like it to be as good as possible, but I'm not too great at deck building lol. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=349152

I suggest for any Elf based deck the older Taunting Elf (or Lure) in addition to Timberwatch Elf for fatal damage. You can of course find ways to speed that combo up by adding in your token methods or Elves like the oh so dirty Glistener Elf.

taunting elf is great if it works as i thought ( when you attack all creatures opponent controls blocks it )

so I might add one or two of those.

I'd run Revenge of the Hunted. Little elf suddenly gets really big and has lure. Works perfectly with Thornweald Archer or Wren's Run Vanquisher or even the Glistener Elf.

Personally I like the Glistener Elf cause a 7/7 infect with lure just ruins someone's day

Nice deck,
my suggestion: 4 Cavern of souls to protect your elves from counter spells, some tajuru preserver's to the SB, Gilt-leaf seer ability is really good combined with green sun Zenith you will always have the elf that you need, Frontier guide instead of Wood elves, you should add essence warden with the token generation you will earn a lot of life.
please check my Turbo fog deck and let me know: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=349766

Priest of titania and maybe staff of domination ( i know your going more for tokens but the priest and the staff are infinite life and mana, just plain mean with ezuri)

As you don't seem to have anything to target your own creatures i would replace Asceticism with Steely Resolve, it's cheaper to play and with the amount of Lord cards in the deck you won't be struggling anytime soon against creatures so the need to regenerate almost useless.

Obviously Deathtouch would have a say against it but that's a specific weakness that you probably won't have to come across. My buddy has an awesome Elf token deck similar to this but the only weakness it has is shoot as no other deck can produce creatures quick enough or powerful enough to match it so i'm currently trying to get him to put Steely Resolve in it for when we play 2HG.

Good deck, but i think nature's lore is better than ramparth growth in mono green.

Same cost, but not tapped when it enters.

Check out my deck if you got time, a very neat combo with destroy enchament.

I feel like you'd be better off using Quest for Renewal over Copperhorn or the Ranger, though I understand that they're both nice and still have a place in the deck, maybe lower the counts on both and add 2 or 3 Quests.

When M13 comes out add sands of delirium so you have a place to put all that mana production.

It's tough to beat Immaculate Magistrate combo'd with Joraga Warcaller. Elvish Archdruid is cool, but Priest of Titania is better.

Naturalize is better in the sideboard, and Nature's Claim might be better.

Taunting Elf combos incredibly well with Infiltration Lens, especially if you regen with Ezuri. For some card draw, I'd go for that, or Genesis Wave, or comboing Elvish Visionary with Q Ranger/Wirewood Symbiote/Wirewood Lodge.

Wirewood Pride and Wirewood Lodge are musts in almost any elf deck, imo.

I personally would drop Ranger, Wood Elves, Behemoth, Asceticism, Chant, Ramps, and Naturalize in favor of some of these, but that's just me. :-)
