I agree. Honestly, a zombie deck will never be competitive in the current modern meta, but you can definitely get closer with hand distruption and kill spells.
I love the idea, and this looks pretty good.
The Scarab God would work well.
I agree. I would also remove gatebreaker ram. The best I see it being is a 4/4 and that on the best case senario, mostly you're gonna be looking at a 2/2 for 3 which is terrible.
Thanks for the advice!
Oh, yeah I've heard of paperstrips. Thanks for all the info!
Well shit, that sucks. Hey, I made a deck inspired by your whole algorithm, check it out.
A special thank you to my fellow deckbuilder, wickeddarkman for inspiring me to make this. Even if it's a pretty simple idea, he's the true genius behind what makes this optimized. I tried to follow as close as I could to his algorithm, while staying with what I felt were strong enough cards to get the job done.
Also, it seems that your algorithm is running off the assumption that all cards are equal in power to their cost, but desecration demon is a better card than most other cards in the deck. If it were to be scaled down to a 1 drop, but still stay as good of a card as it is, then it would work, but I have to work with what I have. For example, many high cost spells (like in the seven and above range) are exponentially more powerful than lower cost creatures. Just look at Griselbrand or Emrakul.
what do you mean 4 sets? If it was cards from any Ravnica set, then there would be lots of great stuff to run at low cost, but this is just cards from Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash and Dragon's Maze.
Haha, true that
This looks really cool. If it's not too expensive I feel that Phyrexian Obliterator could work well.
Dont know if this is quite competitive, but I feel like blossoming defense would fit well with the combat tricks you're running.
Haha, I've seen this comment somewhere!
This all makes sense, but there simply arent enough good red and black 1 drops in the block.
Love the name.
That's true, I've never actually tested this deck, I don't know if 20 is enough, you think 22 would be good?
Because you cant kill black creatures, and that's a big enough drawback to not run it. Its also not quite good enough to see sideboard play, so even if you reduce it by 1 mana, and losing life is good in this deck is good, its too much of a drawback. You want your kill spells to kill. If you get down to a low life total (like 5 or less), which is ideal in death's shadow, you cant kill anything that's a threat with vendetta without losing the game and that renders it a dead card in too many circumstances to be good, even in death's shadow.
There's a reason nobody plays doom blade.
