You are right, by the way, with dread return banned, we are going to have to find a much different approach to this. It really doesn't matter how complicated it is, I mean look at how complex the dredge deck with dread return is anyway. It took me for ever to figure out what the hell was going on. But with as big a card pool as there is in modern, there has to be something, I just don't know what it is yet.

OH JESSIE!!!!!!Guess what?!?! I have a deck challenge for you and I have been working hard on this, if you know anything at all about dredge, plz hlp!So, with the recent modern unbannings, dredge is now possible. There are too many cards in modern that aren't being used right now, for example, bloodghast, narcomoeba, bridge from below... the list goes on. Any way. I am so close, yet so far away. Why don't you take a look and see what you can find. I know it works, I just don't know how to get it to work. I am almost certain it WILL be a combo deck. The problem I am having is that I cannot go off in one turn. It takes 1 turn to reanimate, and 1 turn to kill them. Even using something like Worm Harvest then reanimating Flame-Kin Zealot next turn with unburial rights doesn't allow you to do that turn 3... Turn 4 at the earliest. Okay, next on the agenda, I would like to point out how important Grinning Ignus is in these decks. He allows you to produce at least 2 mana if not more. So take 4 colorless mana symbols off each card you put in, and that is what you are going to be paying for those spells. The final thing is that you can generate infinite mana with Grinning Ignus and Lotleth Troll, uncountable, but keep in mind that you only generate colorless mana with that, and Lotleth Troll may not always be on the battlefield. Another way to use this combo is with 2 grinning ignus, 2 initial red mana, and 2 phantasmagorians. You use one Phantasmagorian to discrad the other and the 2 ignus. Then bring the ingus back to your hand, and repeat the process. This is about what I have by now, also, Lord of Extension is really nice when you flashback Traitor's Clutch...I wish you luck, this isn't going to be easy. If it was then we would see modern dredge lists running around. I will keep playing around and playtesting different ideas. The decks I already have are already competitive, but I want them to be even more powerful, to the point that they might be able to top 8 a GP. Keep in mind this is modern, and let me know what you find.If anyone besides Jessie wants to have a stab at it, go ahead and post your deck in a reply below... So, I have found a loophole. Decks involving Graveyard shenanigans are my favorites, and I have built quite a few, and not released them because they were not good enough... I'm talking about Modern of course. I tried for months to build a dredge deck featuring imprint, and wasn't successful with it, About 6 months later, I tried to build a classic Bridge from below style dredge in Modern. I did stumble upon a way to make it work, but the strategy wasn't viable enough for me to continue the deck. Not only that, the deck was getting super complex, making most modern decks easy to play.... I never understood enough about dredge then or now to finish it.... I do know the substitute for dread return though, Demon of Death's Gate. While not nearly as good, it does get the job done in the end. Even though it does not have flashback, I figured you could start to tutor for it with fauna shaman or some other spell... Thats the part where I stopped, and I couldn't figure out. If someone wants to pick up where I left off, now that the troll is unbanned, I will link the list here:

Hey guys, I'm gonna go out an a limb here and say the Fauna Shaman might get a little too good now..... She will be like the new pod??? Discard vengevine, go get grave troll, discard grave troll, go get wild nacatl, play wild nacatl and something else, get vengevine back, next turn dredge 6, get your troll, play your troll as a 6/6 or bigger, game won. Or just pump a grave troll with abhor Clan Rampager to trample over with a 10/10 or bigger on turn 4-5
The troll already skyrocketed in price... It is 15$ now, and yesterday it was 0.50$
I just picked up a playset of trolls for 7$ each last night, and now they are going for 10$ each, and on amazon for 20$ each.... I think dredge has a chance to make a comeback.... I am going to be playing around with a zoo dredge hybrid with the troll, and vengevine
And I need to get some grave Trolls before they go up to like 10$ or higher....
Pod is gonna drop to like 3$ I bet... It was 15 before, this is the only place it saw play
Ya, I agree, I predicted Pod would be banned, no one believed me, but here we are, and no one can still believe it.... I think it is good for the modern community, but I do know one guy who JUST finished foiling out his pod deck.... Noble heir he's and everything... He is gonna be pissed......
