Deck Description

I am a huge fan of Waste-Not and have been testing it in modern with great results, I feel there's only a 3 month window to test out how good it really is in standard.
As you may have figured by now, the 4x card missing from the deck list is "Waste-Not"

We have a total of 13 cards to cause discard/interact with Waste-Not, this alone should give us a very good match up vs MBD, all control deck varients and some midrange decks(we are a midrange deck).

Having access to cards like Rakdos's Return and Sire of Insanity should lead to some pretty crazy blow outs if you have a Waste-Not on board, even without it these cards can devastate.

How to Play

The point of this deck is to have a deck that can function without Waste-Not,
but also have a deck that can do some pretty absurd things with a waste not or two in play.

Core:

Heart of the deck:

4x Waste-Not.

Card draw/Filter:
Generates card advantage to make sure we stay on track.

4x Waste-Not
3x Underworld Connections
4x Couser of Kruphix

Discard:
Trolls slower decks and is a core part of our deck along side Waste-not.

4x Thoughtseize
3x Rakdos's Return
3x Sire of Insanity
2x Duress
1x Liliana Vess

And the last card worth noting is Underworld Cerberus, this card could probably be another Return, but for now I want to see how it fairs vs creature decks.
The idea is for it to refill their hand so we can Rakdos's Return their hand away and get a bunch of zombies, while also drawing whatever creatures we lost along the way.
It's also not a dead card vs control and it lets us draw back any creatures we lost along the way, may it be from removal or thoughtseize's.

Chance's are I will end up removing:

1x Lilly.
1x Cerberus.

for:

2x Mystic.

Deck discussion for Waste Not

If I end up adding the 4th mystic we may be able to drop down to 23 lands and a 4th rakdos return.
Having:

4x mystic
4x carytid
4x courser (maybe 3x?)

would be more than enough with 23 lands.

Nice waste not abuse!
Lilianas caress would fit perfectly i think. Also id add some sign in blood, this card is so versatile, it can refill your hand, do 2 damage and fill opponents hand to discard them after.

Thanks!
Yeah I made this before Sign in Blood was spoiled as a reprint, it truly would be a great addition.
Caress isn't standard legal is it?

I was kinda thinking of going UBR to splash Whispering Madness,
Having that alongside waste not and sire just seems like a beating.
I was going to replace carytid with Generator Servant to ramp out big returns or an early Sire. Seems like it could be a good time:P.

Pretty solid! Manabase would be too heavy priced for me since i dont have any of those duallands.
True lilianas caress is not standard legal, just saying it would be killer in this deck ;-)

Yeah I have a lot of it, you wouldn't need it to make the deck work, decks just work better with a solid mana base(plus scry lands in standard are insane)

Generator servant is my favorite card now haha.
