How did the Drown in sorrows perform? I feel their value is very play-draw biased against the current metagame. You asked about Murderous cut. Personally I would add the fourth Crux of Fate and Bile Blight (8 cards main to deal with tokens), cut 1 Silence the Believers and add 2 Murderous cuts, sideboarding 2 drown in sorrows to bring against aggro/tokens on the play. The mainboard removal would look like this:

1 Silence the Believers
4 Bile Blight
4 Heroes Downfall
4 Crux of Fate
2 Murderous Cut

Also, the full 4 Sign in blood seems fundamental for MBC.

What do you think?

This deck is great! Congratulations for the creation! =)

I like this deck!

Out of KTK I recall despise and Dead drop as possible additions. Actually the only element I feel it's lacking is hand disruption, Despise and distress are a great complement to your bounce strategy. Maybe you have already tried that path?

But I really like the deck, simple but effective and well thought over. Bonus poins for Mask of riddles, a great discovery for me =)

And since so many of the creatures grow by means of +1/+1 counters, I would add some of the Abzan lords, specially the one that grants lifelink and either one of the two (or both) that grant evasion in the form of flying or trample.

Ahah, and it works great with Rot wolf for some surprise infect wins! =P My favorite flavor touch in this deck is hunter's insight though. I love Terese Nielsen's art!

Agreed. I think Sidisi is not meant for control decks, you need to backup her with lots of creatures and good tempo plays, feels more like a beatdown card to me. Try Pearl Lake Ancient as a control finisher.

Sweet deck!

So I would start by suggesting a playset of Tarmogoyfs and Vengevines...

...

... kidding! =P

Since all of your graveyard sinergy is based around the number of creatures in your graveyard I would switch lands with mana dorks to have a bigger creature count and also some mana ramp to accelerate the deck. I would try something like this:
In: 4x Elvish Mystic 2x Mulch
Out: 3x forest 2x Kruphix's Insight 1x Gnaw to the bone

I would start with this and see how the deck works with 20 lands. Probably fine, mine does and is 2 colors. Maybe you can cut even more! See if you like it.

Great deck! =) Like the Vampire Hexmage + Etched Monstrosity combo out of the sideboard to bring the beats even faster against slow decks!
And Ogre Marauder is a nice creature I didn't know about! Thank you Northern!

Yeah, this deck needs some cuts. But I like the choice of the support cards, particularly the pathway that ancestral knowledge provides to stack creatures on top of your library to activate quest. I also made my Ula's Temple deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/whound/decks/the-temple-at-sea/) and though of using such cards and Paralell Thoughts to set up, but ended up with the more mana light scry engine, as this type of deck hates to draw lands and get flooded.

Taking that in consideration, and even with the 3 Sol Rings, I would cut most of the Monsters with expensive activated abilitys, also because they are useless with 4 Whelming waves, Stormtide Leviathans and Rogue's passages: Lorthos, the Tidemaker and the monstrosity krakens. Also Tidal Kraken is better than Deep-Sea Kraken in this deck.

Can I suggest what I think is the missing piece that makes the Varolz + Menace combo into a magnificent deck?
Skullbriar, the Walking Grave!

It's the perfect beater in a Scavenge deck, becoming even more absurd with Menace in play. And if it dies, nothing is lost! His own counters or the ones you happened to scavenge on him! They just stay there waiting to be themselves scavenged onto the next beater, a Lotleth(love this guy also!) or another Skullbriar! I think I would even play the full 4, being legendary doesn't seem to affect things much! =)

I Like it! =) Working on not really a reanimator, but more of creature-based "graveyard toolbox" dredge deck!
Btw, I think I build a deck worthy of your budget series: http://www.mtgvault.com/whound/decks/centaur-beatdown-beginner/ ! =P

Welcome back!

Viking is right Dasaru. The combo works and that peregrine drake makes it infinite too! eheh

Very nice deck! I have one that is still in the day of the dragons phase, producing a lot of tokens to transform into dragons! So this will serve as an inspiration! eheh

I actually agree with brain maggot instead of Thoughtseize mainboard for the same reason I agree with your sideboard of Lifebane Zombie and Sin Collector instead of Duress: they are creatures and raise the devotion count, both things being relevant for Athreos.

Can I ask why you play with 3 Athreos instead of 4? Legendary rule? Because I feel this deck underperforms without Athreos on the battlefield and really needs it to come up as often as possible so I would start by playing 4.
