Seems pretty legit to me, much like its predecessor. Maybe drop Jace 5 out of the side for new jace? Other than that, this seems like it is very good. I especially like the walls!

Should work pretty well. Let me know how it goes.

...Hour of need could be an awesome alt win con for you. Think about it. Two (or more) electromancers turn into sphinxes for one blue mana each at the end of your opponent's turn. Then swing. Seems pretty sweet to me.

Guttersnipe looks great, but outside of EDH (where he is instantly killed on principle now) it is not very good. There are much more impactful things you could be doing on turn 3.

Id play it as a 1 or 2 of to try and get that early boost. Just a little extra boost every few games.

Martyr of Sands Might be pretty good

True....but I would rather be playing better threats than demon. He gets locked out too easily by token producers like elspeth. That and he cycles soon

Side counter magic against them? Negates, essence backlash (for the old demon and merchant plan) and cheap removal for early rats.

Just thought of something. You might want to swap out one mizzium mortars for another anger of the gods. Aggro is your worst enemy.

Turn and burn is the best removal here for sure.

No problem. I am a control player myself (Im testing Junk, but I will most likely run Esper on Game day) so I do know what youre saying. If you have a lot of those types of decks in your meta, consider running a few duress (maybe -1 sin collector, -1 baron, -1 bile blight +3 duress...not sure on the bile blight though just seems tough for you to cast) in the side and just make sure you make the most of your thoughtseizes during game 1.

Just thought about brain magot too....that might be awesome in a lot of matchups. Id test that in the main in the place of demon. That might seem odd, but your top of the line creatures are way better that demon, so you really dont need it most of the time.

Id take out one obzedat and one angel for the barons. If for nothing else, that the meta is heavy to black and white removal. Burn just wont be your friend either way as the angel and the baron have the same toughness.

I would also cut the slaughter games from the main and drop down to 2 elspeth, drop 1 connections and a downfall for 4 x 2 mana spell (lightning strike, doom blade, ultimate price, or even better devour flesh which can gain you some life against the burn decks).

Thanks! Thoughtflare is a great card and it beats the heck out of steam augury!

I don't know if a play set mana confluence is correct here. The deck seems too slow to properly utilize it. I would suggest that you stick with the scry and shock lands. Mana Confluence is more geared towards decks that want to win in the first 5 turns or so (less if possible).

I would suggest that Keranos is just a very resilient repeating cantrip/bolt that can be reasonably controlled with scry. If you do decide to make the switch, I would strongly recommend dissolve to you.

Either way you go, dissolve would be an excellent tool.

Also, I have an Izzet Tempo (counter/burn) you should check out. Might give you some ideas.
