Deck discussion for Golgari Standard

I have a pretty traditional Standard Mono Black deck and recently I was thinking of doing just this it. Glad to see someone else had the same idea, must mean I'm not doing it wrong.

That being said, I would replace Herald of Torment with something a little more heavy hitting. I would mainboard the 4 Master of the Feast (although I haven't quite seen how devastating all that draw will be against you), possibly drop down to 1-2 Whips and throw in another Vraska

I considered that Master of Feast but figured it could kill me against America Control. The whips are in because of how much life I'm losing with the thoughtseize, shock lands, etc. but thank you!! The comments help a lot

If you weren't looking to just splash some green into a mono black deck, you could always do Golgari Dredge which is very interesting in standard.

Whip of Erebos
Nighthowler
Deathrite Shaman
Grisly Salvage
Lotleth troll
Nyx Weaver
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Nemesis of mortals
Satyr Wayfinder
Scavenging Ooze

That's not a bad idea at all!! I like it, I'm just worried about how strong it may be. I like the black devotion a lot but also the splash of green

I've been playing it for over a month and it's a little less powerful now. But that's because a few other poeple started playing it so it been getting some sideboard hate.

So your basically running the BG devotion list. My first recommendation would be to drop the Sylvain caratid, I don't see anything that you really need to ramp into. Go with the pack rat plan like the devotion lists instead. 3 whips seems like to much you never want to see two of them enless the first gets hit. I'd up the lifebane zombie by one and go two whips.
As for the side board mist cutter won't be nearly as good now that banishing light is out, but they might only run two so it could still work its to early to tell. As for master of the feast replace him he's not a sideboard card if anything he gets sided out against decks. I'd probally run two of devour flesh for the blood baron match up and maybe some dark betrayal for the mirror.

Yeah that's true about the mistcutter I just don't like the fact that my friend likes to play a lot of counters and hasn't added any of the banishing lights yet. The whips are because of how much life I'm losing with thought seize and shock lands, etc. I like the lifebanes a lot though. I'm not sure if I'm a rat pack fan. What makes them so good? That might be a dumb question but I don't know a whole lot about standard

Each copy adds to your devotion and they get big if not taken care of, plus mutavaults beef them up too.
