Bazaar Trader is another idea, as far as donating fun toys to your friends. Cool deck concept.

So you have Dimir Infiltrator. It's unblockable, you're just using it to start Mindcrank. May I suggest Invisible Stalker, as he still costs 2 but also has hexproof, giving him self protection from your opponent? Anything global they cast against you (Wrath of God, Languish, Slagstorm, etc) is going to hit your Infiltrator regardless, but Stalker is at least protected from targeted spells. Just something to consider.

I just feel they're really solid cards I suppose. That's all. I used to run those in a R/B vamp deck I had for fighting Cawblade and Valakut standard, back in the classic Zendikar days.

Cool concept, thanks for sharing. Question: Why only 1 each on Gatekeeper and Bloodghast?

I like the deck concept, pretty neat, hadn't considered that as a viable deck strategy. On the mana issues you mentioned, off the top of my head, here's what I've got as far as suggestions:
Jet Medallion/Ruby Medallion (it looks like black is the predominant color, so I would suggest that one)
Cabal Coffers
Crypt Ghast

I sort of feel like Phyrexian Obliterator fits the theme, but at 4 black requirement in a dual color deck, you might have issues getting him out. I just really like that card.

Playtesting seems to run into too many land problems, so fixes to that are 2 more Plains and dropping Knights of the White Orchid for Noble Hierarchs. Should run smoother in that regard. We'll see what happens.

Some more possible ideas then, since you want more big bad guys:
Dread. 6 cmc, 3 of which is black, for a 6/6 Fear, whenever a creature deals combat damage to you, destroy it, and whenever Dread is put into a graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it back into your deck.

Exsanguinate. It's a win condition, since you'll probably be able to pay quite a bit into it by the time you use it. 2 black and X to drain your opponents' (all of your opponents) life.

There's quite a few demons that might be beneficial as well, I'll namedrop a few and you can check and see if they are any good.
Demon of Death's Gate
Indulgent Tormentor
Desecration Demon
Bloodgift Demon
Reaper from the Abyss
Lord of the Void
Kothophed, Soul Hoarder
Rune-Scarred Demon

I hope this is a lot of fun for you to play.

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes a lot of sense. Have you started buying pieces of this to play in real life, or playtesting on Cockatrice or some other mtg client? Just curious to see what your findings are with playing it against other decks.

Sidenote: I read Mimic Vat again. Looks like you have to resolve and let die an Acidic Slime before you can actually imprint it. Do you have any problems reliably getting a Slime or another good creature imprinted, given the mana cost for those? As in, do you typically have enough time to get the mana available to pull that combo off effectively, reliably/consistently enough?

I appreciate the feedback. Perhaps I should try running some of those, I'm just playtesting stuff online to see how it goes for me.

I didn't see much in the manner of Doom Blades (or something similar to just outright kill a creature) that didn't cost at least 4 mana. That's why I asked for an explanation. I also was not aware that you would be able to consistently have 3 mana available turn 2, via BoP or Simian. That's great that it works for you in drawing sample hands, best of luck. I have 1 more question now.

What purpose does Liquimetal Coating serve here? Is it to combo with dropping an Acidic afterwards, in case you need to destroy something not an artifact/enchantment/land?

That's EXACTLY why I said you needed it lol. That the Nyktos lands can now be tapped for 1 black as needed. You don't need 4 obviously, just 1 or 2.

My argument for Nighthawk is like this: where else are you going to find flying, lifelink, deathtouch on a 3 cost black creature? Without additional cards/effects, you won't. It is a fantastic 3 drop. If you were doing this as a vampire tribal sort of deck, I would tell you to throw Vampire Nocturnus in there as well (so good).

I had thought Griselbrand was a bit too much for the deck because of his cost and you're not cheating him into play via some other means. Glad to see him there though, he's a baller. Another fun one to consider might be Exquisite Blood, or Painful Quandry. Damage to your opponents causes loss of life (fun fact: damage can be prevented, but loss of life cannot).

I can't believe I didn't say this before. I'm a horrible person. Sign In Blood. Good lord is that a godly card in black. Card advantage is king in this game, no matter how you slice it.

You don't have to sell it to me, I already hit the Like button because, even though I may not particularly like the goal the deck, I feel it was constructed well and had a lot of thought put into it. My next question: how well does this fare against Jund or another control deck? How does it deal with Goyf and any threat they resolve in the first 3 turns? I am by no means discouraging design, I'm just asking because I don't see much creature kill or some other mitigation.

Oh, then you absolutely have to have Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in there. That's 100% a requirement. Given the rest of the deck, and the fact that you're playing casual Magic, I would argue that Tormented Soul isn't necessary. It's a 1 drop that you're going to get damage through with, sure, but unless you're beefing him up to be a secret kill condition with some sort of enchantment or artifact, I don't see it really adding much to your deck. How about Gatekeeper of Malakir for a little more bang for your buck as far as mana goes (use the Kicker on him EVERY time, always pay the 3 mana), or Vampire Nighthawk for some survivability (best 3 cost black creature in Magic, hands down, with my boy Phyrexian Obliterator following at best 4 cost black creature).

Maybe people just don't like the land destruction playstyle. I know I wouldn't want to fight this deck, knowing that I won't be playing anything unless I was specifically running a low cost blue deck and sitting on counterspells the entire game to make sure I can play anything in my deck. I can't blame a crowd for not liking a deck that isn't their playstyle, or something they agree with.

Saw the name, had to comment lol. The bigger, blacker deck, if you will. This is definitely an interesting build. Is there a specific combo in the deck? It's at 65 cards, I feel you could drop the Walking Atlas and be alright. It would probably run a little smoother. Was this just built off of cards you had on hand, or is there a particular goal in mind? I'm just curious, trying to see where you're going with it.

I saw mah boyz Bloodghast and Obliterator, had to upvote immediately. This is glorious, absolutely love the design. I'm not sure if you have room, but if you need a 1 drop, Pulse Tracker is a pretty solid turn 1. I would also consider adding some of the discard spells (Despise, Duress, something like that) and/or the kill spells black is typically known for (Go For the Throat, Doom Blade). I feel the interactions would help you out in that regard. Good luck, I hope this runs well for you!

Very interesting build, haven't seen anything like this before. I was going to ask how you were going to cast Wrecking Ball, but it's only 3 spells that need black and you've got BoP and a couple lands. It just might be a dead card in hand for a few turns is all. Cool concept, I hope it plays smoothly for you.

Yeah, I notice I burn out if I have to just use all the counter magic early. Do you have any good suggestions on solid draw spells?
