Yeah and he does have Islands mountains and plains.... That's what the shocklands are. With this sort of deck life isn't too much of an issue except with really aggro decks.

Your mana is fine, take out 2 clifftops for 2 islands, as that is your majority mana colour. Other than that, nice control deck. The Assemble the legion is an interesting idea.

You want to wipe out an artifact deck? Vandalblast :) Or Hellkite Tyrant and make them yours.
But you will want to switch it so you can get it to power 20 :)
Well Orzhov can save your own creatures too don't forget. But at the same time you have no 1 drops for its third ability. Dimir charm your deck can use all three.
Swap out Devour flesh for tribute to hunger. Why should they get the life? It costs the same anyway...I personally can't see the point of gift of orzhova, I mean, I know why you added it, I agree on why you added it, but I just don't think it fits. I'd just go another instant. Another charm or rev. Have you considered Dimir charm?

I want to hate you for all the hipster crap, but I just can't, because I know you're right about all of your card explanations. Angel is an interesting twist. I especially agree with you on Render Silent, why aren't more running it?? Sorry to say it, but in the current standard cycle, shock lands are a must have in most tri-colour decks.... DAMN GAS I LOVE IT!!!! I'll swing with fluxcharger - ok I'll take it it's only 1... - Cast rush of blood, take 10 damage. Or even better. (as long as you have the mana), combo into a swing for the win. All onto flux charger, let each one resolve - Phytoburst, 10/6, Artful dodge, 6/10 unblockable, swing, rush of blood 20/6 unblockable. Of course cyclops does the same thing....
