Clearly... Let me rephrase that, what should I take out then?

Alterations made after FNM showed I needed something for earlier in the game.

Oh yeah and you REALLY need earthlink for this deck, that with dictate of erebos on the field together would just make it nuts.

And that land card is called Skarrg, the Rage pits.

{T}: Add {1} to your mana pool. {R}{G}, {T}: Target creature gets +1/+1 and gains trample until end of turn.

And you will need a reliquary tower in this deck too. No point having that massive hand if you just have to discard some of it. Also Venser's Journal.

Doomblade, Dark Betrayal, Deicide, Godsend, Banisher Priest. Think of cards also that your opponent will WANT to pay 3 life to keep dead. I'm not going to pay 3 life to keep Screecher dead, I could care less, I WILL pay 3 life to keep Banisher priest or Fiendslayer paladin dead. Or Brimaz, or Brain Maggot, or Obzedat.

If you plan to run Master of the Feast then you should also be running Fate Unraveler OR even better notion thief :) Their upside becomes your upside! AND you get to keep your 5/5 flyer.

Godsend, Doom Blade, Dark Betrayal, Deicide (I can explain why these cards, too, if you like). All great sideboard cards that will answer a ton of decks. In the current standard meta, if you're playing white, or can produce white mana, you should have deicides in the SB.... I can't understand the minotaur in this deck. Honestly would drop them for more copies of what you already have so as to abuse athreos / cartel, or even spears to make your smaller stuff an even bigger threat. Also it is a good looking deck but there is no finisher. I understand you're going for a human tribal style, but 1 or 2 Obzedat to curve out at or even a Blood Baron would be great and be the final nail in the coffin for your opponent. Also don't underestimate the power of a Turn 1 thoughtseize into a Turn 2 Brain maggot. Excellent stalling right there. You could knock out tormented hero for them, as you currently only have about 7 cards that can activate his heroic. All depends how tribal you want to go, if that's the way you're going with it.

I'll give you a link to the Junk deck i'm working on right now that runs along a smiliar idea, except I've foregone the tribal aspect. It might give you some ideas.

SHould have Leyline of Anticipation, and pretty much any other card that gives you instant speed.

Out of the past 4 comments (including this one) this is the only one with any real decent advice. Kudos good sir!

He is correct, oak is crap for what you want to achieve. Go the phantasm if anything or if you have em, frostburns.

Should be running 4 Phenax, seeing as it is your win con, and Siren of the Silent song and thoughtseize for sideboard to screw your opponent's hands.

So where is the mana for this coming from? Yes it is an infinite combo, when you have a dork to keep it going, and Zhurr Taa Druid is the best option due to the damage effect.

Like to know where the speed is, as there is nothing for haste. With mono red if you haven't planned to win by turn 3 or 4, or heck, by even turn 5 at worst, you're not going to win. With so many red permanents surely Thunderous Might would be advantageous to you....

Searing Blood is sideboard for mono red, same for Dynacharge, and not putting Fanatic of Mogis in mainboard is just asking for trouble.

Here, take a look and see what I mean...

No to taking out a Xenagos Planeswalker, Searing Blood is awesome, don't be silly. But you are right I do need a couple of Polukranos in the deck. After playtesting it was Archetype of aggression that I didn't need, it never really did anything.

Actually a very nice deck, white doesn't look like it's needed. Take out Commune with the Gods. I don't see any need for it and there is no way to dredge it out of the graveyard. I'd replace them with Simic Charms. Other than that looks pretty good. Also take out 1 forest for a rouge's passage. Oh and take out 1 dissolve for one more island. It'd be safer to run 22-24 lands. But see how it goes...

You just answered your own question. IT IS A FREE SCRY. You don't pay anything to scry, you put a land into play. Early game, it helps you set up, late game, it gets rid of useless draws. So no they aren't guildgates because guildgates don't let you scry for free. I repeat, just in case it was too difficult for you to comprehend the first time, a FREE scry. For 0 mana.... A free scry...... And $5 doesn't seem like a high value, considering the shocks are sitting around $10 each right now....

I don't know what they will be playing till the day of the tournament. I'm expecting Esper, Black and Blue devotion, other Gruul and mono red aggro decks. And maybe gate decks. There may be a couple of USA, Oros and Junk decks too. I'm normally a Junk player myself but going for something different this time.

Yeah I had a look at them. More interesting than Esper that's for certain...

That Oros looks damn good too.

Mainboarded one for a Polukranos and sided 2 for the plummets. Will see how they go.

Yeah I know there isn't much I can do with Aetherling. What you said in the first 4 paragraphs I agree with and have done. I just recently played an Esper deck last night where I misplayed terribly. I should have skullcracked their Revelation then followed up with a stormbreath for the win. But I did not do that. Still, came second in the tournament so not so bad. I have been heavily considering turning this into a more Naya style deck. yes I would love one more Domri, a turn 2 Domri is always beneficial for me. A turn 3 Ruric Thar shuts down most decks, and has happened a few times. You reckon I should keep the Fade into Antiquity or don't worry about Gods and just go for the third ruric sided instead?

I know I can't cover every deck but I can come pretty damn close. Considering Esper is the only matchup I'm having trouble with I'd say that's not too shabby. I also very rarely have to mulligan my first hand so I know the spread is alright. But if you're set on Arbor Colossus I'll swap em for Plummets and give it a go. I guess it helps with devotion too

What I really need is a card that will KILL Esper decks. I've got things to cover mirror matches, Mono red, aggro, Black and Blue Devotion, Turbo Fog, Gate Decks. Esper is still a pain in my ass. I can beat lower-skilled Esper players and Esper decks that aren't that strong, but a well made Esper deck being played by someone who knows what they're doing with it is near impossible. Plus it's batshit boring to play against!!
