Not taking out Purphoros, late game even mana dorks become a threat. He's there for the "ETB" effect and sometimes the pump. Hammer, took it out, no good for me here, and I really wanted to keep it. Get rid of the Bow? Are you kidding?? No freaking way, such a great stabiliser card, saved me many a times.. Take out a Stormbreath?? HA! Nope. Maybe 1 or 2 when I side but I'm keeping 4 of these suckers in here. I'd say AT LEAST 75% of the games I've won have been because of this guy. What I may end up doing is take out 1 Purphoros and throw in 1 Nylea. I had her in here and she wasn't too bad.

I won't be dropping Bramblecrush or Anger, I will in fact be adding 2 Angers as they are good against faster aggro decks. and Bramblecrush removes Nykthos and Planeswalkers.

I do agree with Revelry, I am currently playing around with the sideboard still, and I most likely will end up putting in another Mizzium for the Revelry and leaving 2 sided. Arbor I'm not too fond of, but it is an option I am aware of.

I do agree with Disciple, I am toying with some lifegain options for the mono red decks. I might add 2 Gruul Charms back into the sideboard, they are great for getting by ground blockers, and sometimes Ashiok if she manages to get a large enough board presence, but that's rare.

I also agree with another 1 Nykthos only, working on getting one more, which I will replace the gate with.

Magma is great for knocking out other rampers or an early aggro starter. So on the fence on that one.

Reasons for the Mutavault? I just can't see why is all.

What I would like to know is I was thinking of throwing in a couple of Boros Charms into the side, for the board wipe protection and maybe even lethal damage pushing through. If I were to add one Temple of Triumph and with the Caryatids do you see it as a viable option?

Thanks for your input.

Hi, I'm currently playtesting my own deck on MTGO, and if you have this deck online as well I'd like to vs you with it as I am trying to get as much testing in as I can. If you're interested here's the link to all the information. Thanks.

I have this deck on MTGO so if you wish to vs me with this deck my username is "Hyno86". I'm usually on in the evenings Australian time. I want to get as much testing for this deck as possible.

This deck has proven to be strong against Turbo fog decks, Gate decks, Esper decks, mono blue & mono black devotion decks, as well as mirror matches. So if you have one of these decks and you either want to test it yourself, or think it will go well against mine, you are most welcome to.

Weakest against faster aggro decks and apparently mono red which I unfortunately discovered the other day....
These are the decks I want to test against more, as this seems to be the only missing issue. Perhaps I need some lifegain or to be faster aggro myself, I don't know until I do more testing.

You can get Vorel to make the counters on Pinnacle happen, you need Opalescence however

Yup turn 1, Helix Pinnacle, turn 2 Devoted Druid, turn 3 Meleria, tap devoted druid 115 times for 115 mana, hardcast emrakul for the extra turn, put 100 counters on Pinnacle, pass the turn and win the game.

I updated the comment with ideas for creatures if you ever want to add them.

Fog is all combat damage to anything and anyone that would be dealt damage in the combat phase only. Safe passage is any damage whatsoever.

If you want to add creatures to this deck down the track I highly recommend the following 3, read them and you will see why.

Emrakul
Devoted Druid
Melira, Sylvok Outcast

What you both seem to be missing is the fact that I can do it to myself. "I kill your Desecration Demon" "No you don't I sac it.

................... That's the whole point. They have to sac a creature and if there is a high value creature on the field they are going to weigh up the lifegain over the loss. Plus the away costs more. Devour flesh is only 2 mana

EtherKingD - There is no way I would be casting turn 4. Turn 3 is the aim with the either an elf or a caryatid. Mizzium is sideboarded. I haven't seen very many aggro rakdos decks around so I'm not very worried. The way I've built the deck and even in the sample hands, I will be destroying a land every turn, stalling the opponent (barring a Thoughtsieze). I don't know of many decks that can function well with 2 mana. Stall till I get an ember swallower and then the opponent will have nothing. And I'm free to attack an empty board.

Konjester - Thank you.

Another option is the mini-fling enchantment, barrage of expendables.

Well no it's not. Both Slaughterhorn and Maaka are 1 drop bloodrushers, whereas rampager is 2 drop bloodrush.

I don't see the need to worry about trample when he will be stealing the opponent's creatures...

Yeah looks good. I made that land destruction deck I was talking about. Seems pretty solid, things start getting dangerous turn 3.

Slaughter Games as sideboard. Can take out some very annoying current standard game killers. Naming an Aetherling or Elspeth will pretty much kill an Esper deck...
