As a member of Team Pod I massively approve - I would cut one or two abrupt decays and/or congregation at dawn to add in a couple of chord of calling and definitely Siege Rhino. When you're running WBG it's too good to leave out !

All I was saying that in LEGACY (which this deck is, not modern legal), being on one life on your turn (or 3 if we're honest with Bolts) is a risky tactic.

Yeah been playing eternal formats for a while now :/ but there is a reason infect isn't top of every top 8 - it is not consistently winning in less than three to five turns.

Love the idea of the deck - and everyone loves a turn 2 hasty 20/20!
The issue with the Hatred win-con is that the text has been oracle-d to "As an additional cost, pay X life", so if they have a counterspell (Force, etc) it will leave you on 1 life and in a format like Legacy/Vintage when there are Lightning Bolts, Deathrite Shamans, Monastery Swiftspears, Forked Bolts, Grim Lavamancers or even Vapor Snags in some tempo lists, the second win-con also becomes second turn loss on some match-ups

Awesome :) can't go wrong with expedition map as it can otherwise find cabal coffers anyway !

Only a small addition but Ghost Quarter has incredible synergy with Ob Nixilis -> basically becoming a straight Strip Mine unless they're desperate to pay the life. All other "target player searches their library" are in green but it adds this option to black, potentially adding cards like Grim Discovery, Petrified Field, Expedition Map and Elixir of Immortality to recur the synergy :)

Ah apologies must have missed it :/ Griselbrand is insane simply to re-hash the life lost from reanimate :)

Love the idea and it has been a very successful deck in both modern and legacy, but seeing as you've made the legacy version, definitely look at cards such as Entomb, Blightsteel Colossus and Griselbrand :)

But again with the aether vial you can drop him in and allow for mana to either 1) pump him up or 2) drop a merfolk in addition to the commander - you've got to remember after you drop him with aether vial he becomes a 3/3 flyer for 2 mana which grows with lords ! There are decks which will only run lightning bolts as removal in modern, so a 4/4 flyer on board is extremely relevant, and if he does draw a removal spell then thats one more lord for you!

Definitely agree but the fact the Commander can gain flying can be extremely relevant so it's best to keep them no more than a two of. I would probably just swap the third for a fourth Cursecatcher.

But when you're either hitting one of 15 islands or an aether vial (which reduces pressure on the mana base) the mutavaults become more than playable

May I suggest using Spreading Seas instead of Aquitect's Will ? It makes the land an island and only an Island - potentially setting three colour decks or those which are 'greedy' with mana back a turn or two - and it is also a guaranteed draw a card too :) And also... where's Mutavault dude !!/!???!

Here is my modern fish list :) http://www.mtgvault.com/buzzgsc/decks/modern-merfolk/

Just a heads up you would need two Myr Retrievers to set the combo off - as it's ability cannot target itself - But I love the idea with Heartless Summoning and I've actually been running a modern deck in Grixis colours around a similar combo, using Grapeshot or Bitter Ordeal as the win-con :)

Nice build mate - I like the idea of Fire Servant, Braid of Fire and the Planeswalkers to help get to the finishing spell faster! The use of storage lands is also a great shout.

A couple of additions I would definitely make would be Isochron Scepter - which becomes more accessible with the tonne of 1/2 cmc instants you're running - Blue Sun's Zenith over Stroke of Genius for me, and one or two more copying spells would help in my opinion.

Also try out Sakashima the Imposter - It becomes a legal copy of Melek (or Galvanoth if required) to double another spell off the top. Maybe even consider the Niv Mizzets in your list too?

Hey man love the build - I recently made a version myself http://www.mtgvault.com/buzzgsc/decks/mono-black-devotion-to-modern/

A few things I would say you need to include looking at both the meta-game and potential bad match-ups:
-Deathrite Shaman - Absolute bomb of a card that takes out decks like Living End, Instant Reanimator, etc. The addition of a play set plus a set of Verdant Catacombs and perhaps a couple of Overgrown Tombs to make the most of Deathrite would be great for your build.
-I agree with Zombie23 - A couple of board sweeps would be ideal, as well as a mana dump such as Exsanguinate or even Profane Command. I would also say that decks like Splinter Twin could be a problem, so a card like Sudden Spoiling might help out :)

Great deck idea mate ! Just a quick question: What format is this for? Seeing as it's not modern legal, why not add in Survival of the Fittest as well - It is insane and allows you to chain discard cards and find the scavenge targets or even Varolz/Troll in a pinch!
I actually run a Skullbriar EDH deck with a similar theme - check it out - http://www.mtgvault.com/buzzgsc/decks/edh-skullbriar-ftw/

Cudos on the deck mate - nice to see it built with a more aggro mindset - however you have made one big misjudgement:
Voracious Hatchling, Nyxathid and Etched Monstrosity's effects are not enter the battlefield effects which trigger when they hit the battlefield, but only change the card stats as it enters (or how they enter the battlefield). So unfortunately they would still come into play with -1/-1 counters or receive -X/-X. I would add in some removal and hand control in place of those creatures :)

Here's my modern T-Orb build :) http://www.mtgvault.com/buzzgsc/decks/torporeater-b/

Cudos on the great build mate - nice to see some three colour, rotation safe aggro going strong ! The one thing I would say this deck needs is Domri Rade (probably instead of the Rakdos's Return) to continue the flow of creatures and provide a removal stick if necessary :)

Yep that's my bad forgot about that - Patriarch's Bidding? Could select either cleric or demon for mass revival?
Why the demon for commander? The Apostles search your library and currently there's nothing to bring them back?
