Deck Description

While the deck has many threats, the Menace gained from Blood-Chin Rager makes it nigh-unstoppable in the early game.

Sorin, Grim Nemesis isn't an original card. I gleefully opened it in a Booster pack and couldn't help but put it in. His +1 ability can be incredibly powerful and fits in very nicely with this deck. His -9 ability is unbelievable coupled with the extreme lifegain given from Whip of Erebos and True Conviction.

The main strategy of this deck is to fill the board with one- and two-drop Warriors such as Bloodsoaked Champion, Blood-Chin Rager and Chief of the Edge to buff each other and overwhelm your opponent so you can swing hard and swing early. This can often end a duel within four or five turns, but doesn't fall flat on its face if a game goes longer.

Blood-Chin Fanatic and Mardu Strike Leader work in tandem to generate tokens each time you attack, and then sacrifice those tokens to deal direct damage to your opponent whilst gaining life. Brutal Hordechief provides another method of direct damage and lifegain, especially coupled with the tokens constantly put on the board.

Whip of Erebos grants Lifelink to all your creatures, so playing Karlov of the Ghost Council immediately before a series of lifegaining events can ensure heavy policing of your opponents. Anguished Unmaking is another avenue to achieving this goal, especially if Karlov is removed early.

Raiders' Spoils works as both a buff for your creatures, ensuring the damage-per-turn continues to increase, as well as one of the better draw engines in the game. Paying one life to draw a card is a great ability, especially with a deck gaining far more life than it loses each turn.

These mechanics become far more damaging late in the game with the arrival of Sanguine Bond and True Conviction. If the double-strike doesn't eliminate your opponent, the triple damage combo certainly will.

I included Crypt of Agadeem as a way of putting the creatures which will inevitably end up in the graveyard to good use. It also puts doubt in the mind of your opponent. Is potentially providing you with an ever-growing mana base worth killing your creature?

How to Play

Come out swinging with Bloodsoaked Champion on turn one. Menace on turn two with Blood-Chin Rager. As the battle wears on, Warriors get stronger with Chief of the Edge and Raiders' Spoils.

Eventually taking charge of the game with Whip of Erebos and True Conviction providing them all with lifelink, played with Brutal Horderchief and activating the ability of the police, Karlov of the Ghost Council and triggering the combo of Sanguine Bond.
