It's a build off a modern tourney I had a few years ago. Fetches are somewhere in another deck, just have to hunt them down xP

some fun modern cards to play with; bloodghast, vengevine, phyrexian obliterator, wurmcoil engine, borborgymos enraged

thanks for the input. sorry it took me a while to get back

after some play testing the new set up works better. the rough idea was to see which play style i was going to go with. i feel it still could run more consistant than it does...and i need to work on a set up for a sideboard for control/burn type decks

currently it burdoes fairly well against CR aggro decks. it either burn/discards/counters their prize plays and prevents further interruptions. hold a counter in hand for their removal of the dragon lord and its all good

visions does a lot better in the play tests than brow beat did

the price of the deck can really be played with...there are plenty of inexpensive cards that would swap easily for this deck and work well

i like use of brainstorm
cards you may want to consider if keeping it casual: ponder, aether vial, mana leak, echoing truth, sensei's divining top, sage owl, spreading seas(assures stormtide can go unblocked, plus its never a dead draw because of the draw it gives you), mana drain

most should lessen the occurance for hard casting your fatties while keeping opponents at bay

peek at this?

I do like the tasigur, but unsure what to switch him out with. thinking the specters?

took me a bit to get back to this one.
thank you for your thoughts, and good catch with the dark deal. I did not know about the card until I read your post

I attempted the persist/seer idea. it didn't run well even when I switched out more things to make it run a bit more smoothly.
i am attempting this current list now ;)

its an idea in the works for sure. between classes and work i havn't gotten back to this deck to really do any edits
i kinda am leaning towards sticking with maralen for sure and building it around her form of control. we will see

multiplayers are though, I'm so used to just me and my fiance playing casual. trying to get back into tourneys lately tho has proved interesting
ppl suggest a lot on here, but it doesnt always fit the meta game at home

as far as resilency the lightning boots would make a beetle or artist last...but it also takes up card space. don't blame you on not switching it up for either of em
as far as boardwipes - damnation
and a newer reprint of smallpox are usually easy finds for every player's removal, land destruction to slow them as well
wrench mind can work as well. targets one player, but good to sideboard if you know they are running a POD deck or something else that depends on an artifact type combo

tutor card - entomb/unearth
CR that work well in a sac deck you may think about - mortician beetle and blood artist
planeswalker removal - hero's downfall
gy removal - surgical extraction
cr removal that works well in a sac deck is tragic slip
discard cards for control is another way to go - duress, inquisitin of kozilek, thoughtseize ... but many actually go with cabal therapy for this with a sac deck / combo of peek at op hand with cabal therapy ... even duress would let you peek, remove, then cabal therapy to remove say that gy hate card that duress may not be able to touch

the first is a casual deck. the second is a tourney in the works. much appreciated if you could take a peek

Red splashes well with this type of deck with cards like browbeat and vexing devil.
I also have an esper deck with a similar type of control- vex and perplex. Very fun to play
