Ill test it with these 8 and see how it works. As long as I get one creature out it should work. This isn't meant to be anything more than a casual standard deck btw, I won't be attempting this at any tournaments

Assemble the legion is great with legions initiative, and sphere of safety will give it plenty of time to do its job.

Hmm...yes, this could work. Maybe when ooze flux doesn't cut it. When hydras die I just make a giant token in response, so protection isn't completely necessary
Right, kinda hard to balance it with those reckoners... I might throw them in and test anyway. 4 red one drops (stromkirks) and 4 green one drops just seems more versatile to me. Also, if you need another 3 drop, slaughterhorn is very underrated and has been great in testing for my gruul deck. Worth a shot if you need it. :)
Experiment one might be a better one drop than rakdos cackler. More potential and it can always block
Spear is better for this. By the time the opponent stabilizes, that 3 damage may be all that you need. It is more versatile and better suited for this build. If they're running token decks you're going to win anyway

Good call on rancor. Whay would you take out? And I'm actually using a different rug deck right now (titled carpet midrange on here) so I don't have free lands right now to build this, but I have the rest of the stuff. If I get bored of my other deck ill try this out for a week at fnm and let you know how it goes. :)
