Thanks for the attention :) I was considering Pia and Kiran for that exact reason. I'll go ahead and mainboard them and see how that goes. Also, using Pia and Kiran can trigger Daring Sleuth

I like the idea of Heliod's Pilgrim to get Presence of Gond and a body for chump blocking. However, I'd like to keep combos down to only two pieces and make the rest of the deck support/protection etc.

Aww, and here I thought I was original. :P Thanks for the feedback. I might tweak it more and eventually buy/proxy it and see how it works.

Hmm... I may cut Tempt with Vengeance seeing as it's far less effective than Alliance of Arms, since no one in their right minds would take the tokens. I was thinking about Hunted Dragon as well, to get me a big flying beatstick with haste, as well as more triggers for Blood Seeker and Suture Priest. Stronghold Discipline looks good too though, but I'm unsure of how efficient it is at 4 CMC. Overall I think I need to pay more attention to the curve, and put in some better turn 1 plays.

Alliance of arms reads that "Each player gets X 1/1 soldiers, where X is the /total/ amount of mana paid this way." So if I pay 5 each player gets 5, unless someone pays additional mana, in which case we all get a higher number of soldiers. So even if they don't pay any, they still receive the tokens.

I had doomsayer as a 3-of before a friend said that duel decks only ever have rares as 1-of, so I cut two.

:D Thanks for the quick response. I considered Zombie Apocalypse, but I would need to give the human deck something comparable. I would much rather see the decks pan out as a war of attrition rather than huge killer cards. And if I use any of the older cards I would most likely make proxies of them with modern borders and possibly alternate art for consistency. I'm trying to keep both decks in Innistrad flavor, so the only non-Innistrad cards I've included for the most part are generic core set cards.

Well, I had looked into getting a U/W control deck when I was looking to get into standard, but I didn't understand how I was supposed to win. I actually see what to do here in order to win.

Hey look, a control deck that actually makes sense to me.

Spiteful Visions looks great for this, although it's a bit self destructive. Well, it is black after all... And about Graven Cairns, I'm not going for a particular budget here, so I could use it. I just didn't bother with mana fixing because it's only two colors.

Yet, the tokens are creatures, but the tokens aren't cast, they don't even have a casting cost. The tokens are created after the resolution of the spell. While the spell is on the stack, it is an instant or sorcery, and Possibility Storm recognizes the spell as an instant or sorcery. There are no tokens until the spell resolves. Period.

The tokens are creatures, but the spell is an instant or sorcery. Brainstorm recognizes it as such, and would have you cast another instant/sorcery. It has to be the memnite or thopter if he wants to get Emrakul out.

Voyage's End allows him to fix his draw slightly. Peel From Reality can deal with an opponent's creature temporarily, but won't do anything to help him later on. Personal preference is the main factor.

To make the budget deck more budget-y, you could replace Nyx Fleece Ram with Ajani's Mantra. Same mana cost, same effect, but not a creature. It's (obviously) your choice, since mantra vs. ram is a double edged sword. Ram is a great blocker, but is vulnerable to more types of hate (creature hate, spot removal, AND enchantment hate).

@_@ Sorry, wasn't trying to be rude. I'm actually kinda honored that you would take my advice. Something else I noticed, the day you made this deck was my birthday. Not that it matters, just kinda a neat coincidence.

Why only one Mortician Beetle? It seems like it would be the MVP of the deck, but with only one, you may have a hard time playing it, or Scavenger Drake.

Imo, if you can pull off a Coalition Victory, you deserve to win the game. Anyways, I found this rather helpful.

Thanks. :D The only thing is, the cost reduction is for all players, including your opponent.
