Purpose is to get out defense with vampire night hawk, attack and build with nightveil specter (remember not to put land out until the specter has damaged because you may exile land to play). Also, when your life is low, you can use disciple of bolas to sacrifice a desecration demon or a consuming aberration to draw cards and gain life (don't worry, you'll get them back with Havengul Lich). When you get Crypt Ghast out or if you ultimate on liliana, you can do a massive Mind Grind ( you can also use the excessive mana to pull lots of creatures from graveyards).
