I actually love her but I know a lot of players are disappointed. Oh well, you can't satisfy everybody

With Ghost dad and Blood Baron in Standard? That would have been kinda boring in my opinion. Nah this effect is pretty fantastic
...Have you seen many decks run Tajic? Ever? Or even Aurelia for that matter? Geselia is in the wrong block and still isn't played, and Lightning Helix doesn't interact with him at all. This Standard the only Boros cards played are Warleader's Helix, Chained to the Rocks, Boros Charm, and Boros Reckoner. That's it. Boros always looks good but nobody has been really running it. No, this god may help bring some playability back to Boros.
Not only is he going to see extensive play in standard, he may even enjoy the limelight of modern. He's the best god since Thassa. You could even debate that he is better. Let me put it this way. He takes one of the best aggro/weenie color combinations and hands it the thing it needs the most: a solid card advantage engine. Every time you try and remove a creature you have to make a decision: Take a Lightning Bolt to the face, or turn my premium kill spell into a glorified Unsummon? It may not seem like much, but this card is going to be a house. Also of note is the fact that he's incredibly undercosted and, just like the rest of the gods, is an indestructible beatstick. Can you see him in standard paired with the B/W humans core? Now you have not 4, but 8 cards in the deck that make Supreme Verdicts useless. With this and Xathrid Necromancer, what do you do? A Verdict leaves their board basically the same and you at a lower life total. You're going to have to remove everything twice or more.In modern he is going to do some stupid things with Geralf's Messenger and maybe Fulminator Mage. Yes the only thing that's going to keep him fair is good old fashioned graveyard removal ladies and gentlemen. Sleeve up your Rest in Peaces.

ATHREOS GOT SPOILED HE'S EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED IN LIFEhttp://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/the-rumor-mill/552768-athreos-god-of-passage-pax-spoiler
Yeah the thing is that I'm definitely playing Spite of Mogis (too good to pass up), but then when I added Spellheart too I just came to the conclusion that it was too weak to graveyard hate. Like a Rest in Peace out of the side would make 8 cards dead? No thank you.
This looks a lot like the build that I was moving towards. I had the Electromancers, Izzet Charms, Magma Jets, even the Hypersonic Dragon as a placeholder! However, I wasn't sure about Spellheart. I've actually played with that card a decent bit trying to make Grixis work, and it has just never worked for me. I don't know, maybe this is a good time to give it another chance. But something you will definitely be interested in is Spite of Mogis, another card coming out in Jou. I was also playing around with Oracle of Bones, Thoughtflare, and Mizzium Mortars.
um just run erebos or better yet, havoc festival
If it's getting this much attention, people must like it enough to rationalize it's presence on the front page. If you don't like it, press "Back" and scroll past it.
I would absolutely agree that card is soooo pushed. I was thinking something similar, like only legendary creatures can equip it, but then again that might encourage decks that are just pure money.
nvm, check the new pushed white legendary: Godsend.
I actually would tend to disagree. I don't think that "Splash Azorius" makes sense when "Play Azorius" is so much better. I don't think his ability adds anything drastic to the current builds of U/W/R, and with their top end consisting of hands down better things (like revelations) and no way to turn him into a creature, I don't know if he earns a slot. Unless I've missed something, I doubt I would pursue that route.Grixis, on the other hand, has more trouble with card advantage but is more focused on burn (Rakdos's Return). That sounds like a shell where he may be of more use. I already have him in a test shell, right now I'm just looking for more relevant creatures. The problem is that any control shell and most burn decks are more focused on instants and sorceries, so he is less likely to get the necessary devotion to become a creature and therefore far less overpowered.
It absolutely is. I've been trying to build with him though, and unless he has a good chance of being a creature that ability doesn't seem to cut it. I haven't had any luck getting him to be a creature, I need a couple more highly relevant creatures to make the deck worth it IMO. Here's hoping for a sweet Fanatic/Prophet of Keranos as an enabler.
...all of the minor gods will get cards, that was confirmed a long time ago.
Keranos spoiled! http://www.magicspoiler.com/mtg-spoiler/keranos-god-storms/
yeah but seriously the best thing spoiled so far is the gnarled scarhide. They're really trying to pull monoblack aggro back. I appreciate that.
He's a great addition to decks that already have a bunch of creatures on the board. I don't think he will break the format. None of the gods have done that except Thassa. I would put him slightly above Ephara and a decent bit below Thassa. Right at Xenagos level good.
yo take a calm down pill
