The aim of this deck is to combine the strong green and black midrange cards, such as polukranos and desecration demon, with the resources gained through cards like Prophet and some of the stronger removal in standard right now. The result a deck that, so far, offers up lots of earlygame removal with a devestating endgame, leaving any opponent begging for mercy, it tests well against most of the current standard meta-decks.
A quick note on the sideboard;- Dark betrayal is an instant swap out for doom blade against black matchups- Bile blight against esper humans, white weeny and red aggro (don't worry there is sufficient fixing to cast it without issue)- Fade into antiquity against any god-based deck- mistcutters are good for rushing any blue/ control deck before they play a bomb.- putrefy is good against decks that run more than one whip/spear/hammer though not as good in other matchups, thats why sideboard.Seeing as wizards has effectively stopped any fast standard decks from being consistent the midrange deck has become a popular choice. This bug midrange combines the strong removal and high creature damage made available with black and green with the advantages of jayce and zegana and the resources made by prophet. Play a caryatid, nightveil or courser early to stop aggro/weenie decks then smash it home with big guys like desecration demon and polukranos. I have tested it extensively over a matter of months and i reckon it stands a fair chance against the standart meta atm.
