Cadaver Imp tends to be a better option then grave digger, costs 1 less, and has flying.

What is the point of Basilisk Collar?

Maybe Tumble Magnet instead of Panic Spellbomb being that you cannot utilise the draw mechanic.

Maybe also sideboard Tectonic Edge and replace with Verdant Catacombs, because land destruction isnt necessary in every deck.

biggest glaring issue I can see.

Shard Volley over Lightning Bolt?

1 mana and sac a land 3 dmg OR 1 mana 3 dmg....

It looks like it was built out of cards that he has available, which would explain alot.

Im going to assume you meant to add Rite of Flame rather than Rite of Consumption... If not... you should add Rite of Flame being thats its part of your main wincon :-)

Ah Fetches would be nice, but since I dont have any Verdant Catacombs I decided with birds. Also birds are a 1 drop and allow a little bit of flexibility since you can drop birds and a land rather thatn just a fetch. Final reason I think birds are a decent idea is they can, if necessary, chump block.

I decided against Ichor Rats because I dont think I have ever had a game that was won with just that "1" poison counter from the rats, and since they sit at a measily 2/1 for 3 mana, specifically (1)(b)(b) they can sometimes sit in your hand if you cant manage out two blacks quick enough.

It tends to be that when you win with Infect its through a major overkill, something like 12-15 poison counters rather than right on the money at 10. Making Ichor rats not very useful, I think their place is more in a U/B Proliferate deck.

Praetors is expensive, and with no mana ramp you are going to be dead or almost crippled by the time this deck gets to go off at all.

Infect needs to win by turn 5 or its not going to, plain and simple.

Use the deckbuilder properly...

...I mean while sitting there adding each card over and over, you never thought "Wow there has to be a better way than this?" and then perhaps looked at what you were doing...

IMO, no vampire deck should not come complete with Bloodghast

Well, generally, it is to clear early creatures from the field. My goal is to make sure larger creatures dont make it to the field through discard/Doom Blade. Also in order to do 2 damage to two targets it would take 6 mana with Fireball (R) for the mana cost, (4) to set the amount of damage I want, then another (1) to hit multiple targets. Fireball DIVIDES the damage equally across the selected targets as well. Comet Storm would be a better option if that were the route I would go.

Burst Lightning is more or less simply a weaker Lightning Bolt, I thought about adding in Arc Trail for the easy split of that but was trying to avoid 2 mana kill cards.

Staggershock is another option, but 3 mana is a bit hefty, even if it rebounds.

Actually you can use something like nihil spell bomb instead of leyline (although leyline is going to be more useful) and when he is put into a graveyard you exile it in response.

I wouls suggest Bloodghast as he will be constantly coming onto the field and allowing you to cast Feast of Blood when your opponent may not expect it. If you do decide to add Bloodghast then I also suggest adding in the fetch lands so that you can have them come back when you need them not just when you draw a land.

Blade of the Bloodchief can be incredibly useful in a vampire deck.

I would replace Hideous End with Doomblade because the two damage is not often worth the one extra mana, especially if you need a turn 2 doomblade.

Also, Sign in Blood is an amazing card, especially for a vampire deck where you usially have a fair amnount of lifegain. Drawing 2 cards for 2 mana is absolutely amazing.

I would ditch grim discovery, for one reason you NEVER (yes there are land kill decks, no you would not mainboard for them, or hell even sideboard for them because they are rare) will have lands going into the graveyard, if you insist on adding in some graveyard return cards add disentomb or Soul Stair Expedition.

I wouldnt run Bloodseeker, mainly because if you arent playing a creature heavy deck he does nothing for you, perhaps place in Guul Draz Assassin or another of the 1B vamps that gets a benefit from opponent being 10 or less life,

Now, speaking for the cards that get benefit when an opponent has 10 or less life. Sorin Markov or Blood Tribute, both would go leaps and bounds towards accomplishing that goal, although they do have the hefty 5CMC mana cost (I believe) but allow for some fantastic things.

Well if you decide to keep white, use Journey to Nowhere instead of Arrest. Day would be very handy in case you lose your grip on the opponnent and they pump out alot of creatures, such as against an Elf or Goblin deck.

Is your preferred wincon just milling the opponent? because you lack the damage necessary to have reducing life to 0 as a wincon. Because of that, Hideous End is worthless as you are paying an extra mana for damage that basically means nothing. Go with Doom Blade instead.

This means that based on what you have up there milling is your only option, the problem from there is that you HAVE to mill them before they can kill you, which means it has to be very fast. I think removal of white altogether is a better idea, add in Consume the Meek for dealing with those fast creature decks.

It may work, I was thinking myself of making a discard/mill deck that follows up with Haunting Echoes for a complete crippling of the opponents deck.

I would alos suggest removing Hideos End, as it is simpyl a more expensive Doom Blade, perhaps change it out with a board clearer like Day of Judgement or Consume the Meek. I think removing white may be a good idea however as you are really only using it for is silence.

Also replace Disperse with Into the Roil as it is a better card completely, for the same mana cost.

Well the problem with taking the kozilek is in my Meta, there is fair amount of people who play Mill decks, and Eldrazi is the perfect Mill defense.

As for adding in counterspells, the point of the discard is to prevent them from being able to actually cast much in the first place. Turn 1 you can Duress/Inquisition of Kozilek them to remove a low cost creature or any control they may have. After that you just start hitting them with more duress/inquisition or Psychic miasma to make them force away some of their bigger creatures which may be in their hand.

The thing with blue is ti adds in control after the fact, im going to pre-emtive control, by removing the cards from their hand before they can even play them. Plus knowing what is in their hand most of the time is incredibly useful.

Also, as for the legacy, I pretty much only play T2

Yea I have been running alot of variations on infect decks at FNM lately, trying to get a really competetive one.

I have found that SKithryix tends to be a bad choice, he gets removed so quickly because it takes so long to get him out.

Putrifax on the other hand does really well because he just comes out and bashes and goes away, leaving alot less time for removal and no response turn for them before he attacks.

But I will say that 4x Ichor Rats is almost a must and splashing 2 or so HOTP is pretty handy as well.

I will also say that the hardest thing for an infect deck is handling late game, so that being said perhaps some combination of vats/skithryix could be very deadly.

skithryix tends to be a fail because if infect hasnt won by turn 5-6 it most likely isnt going to. He costs to much to bring out and will most likely face removal very quickly.

Infect decks need to be very, very fast in order to be competetive, using lands that come in tapped is slow. What happens when turn 3 comes and you need that red mana for assualt strobe? All your red comes in tapped, and if you played it earlier then you cant drop your blight mamba/necropede/ichorclaw turn 2.

As nice as those lands are they slow infect down to the point that it just cant compete. Basic lands/Fetch Lands/M11 rare lands only.

Just took it to Wednesday magic, did fairly well, won 3/4 matches (it was a small night). I generally won in 3 however, as without being able to drop 6-8 poison counters by turn 4 I generally found myself fighting an uphill battle.

Skithryix is worthless, he is definatly out. I might remove Necropede in favor of Contagious Nim, because I often found myself in a situation where a creature with haste would win the game.
