Deck Description

This is the second deck I built myself. Got some "Stormkirk Captain" and knew that I had to do something with it.

This deck has seen some action on local modern (starter) tournaments end has evolved over the time.
It all started with "Stromkirk Captain", some "Stromkirk Noble" and one or two "Bloodline Keeper", but that's all of the original deck that remains.
"Dreadbore", "Go for the Throat", Lightning Bolt", "Terminate" and "Guul Draz Assassin" make this avery removal heavy deck, but this fits the vampire theme very well as they have to get to your opponent to get stronger.
"Read the Bones" and "Sign in Blood" provide some card-draw while "Blade of the Bloodchief" converts dead creatures into +1/+1 counters for the vampires.
On one of my last matches I ran into a monoB deck that used "Vampire Nocturnus" and "Bloodghast". I wasn't so sure about Nocturnus because I had some (6 to 8) non-red spells in my deck at that time but I gave it a try and it worked out. "Bloodghast" is simply annoying for my opponent. If your budget allows you could also add some (good!) searchlands to further minimize the risk of having a red- or landcard on top.

I found no vampires on the new sets that really cried 'put me into this deck' but I never stop looking for those cards.

I own all those cards and I have played this deck many times. Regardless I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to further improve this deck.

How to Play

"Stromkirk Captain" and many removals should help to get the rest of the vampires to your opponent. "Vampire Nocturnus" will provide evasion for all your vampires, "Read the Bones" or "Sign in Blood" will help to remove non-black cards from the top of your library.

The sideboard gives options against mass-decks, graveyard based mechanics, artifacts and against multicolor-lands.

Deck discussion for B/R: Vampire

I like the idea of having a fast and good vampire deck with strong synergy creatures. I like to have lots of removals to secure my damage on the opponent and you should check my deck out, it has great potential of making my opponent suffer, I try to have a bit cheap mana curve which provides my fast damage. You can choose betweens a lot of good creatures but that deck that I have is built on cards that I have IRL. I liked this deck and commented so would be nice if you checked out my decks! :D GL with the deck btw.

Yep, but only due to "Dark Ritual".
And I keep my fingers from Vintage/ Legacy decks, as I have absolute no expirience there.

I used it earlier but removed it later on, to have more slots for point removal.

I had "Olivia Voldaren" in this deck at the beginning but removed her in favour of "Vampire Nocturnus". "Falkenrath Aristocrat" would also fit more to my plan than Olivia.
