Deck Description

Searching for challenges I stumbled upon wickeddarman's idea of halfdecks.
The idea behind this is to built small decks (30 cards) and fuse them with other such decks. It's important that each halfdeck could work on it's own and that you tag your deck as 'halfdeck' so that others may find proper halves to combine it with.
Basically I have seen 2 ways of building such a deck:

1.) Take a 60 card deck and split it into 2 halves of 30 cards each.
2.) Take a 60 card deck and try to filter 30 essential cards out of this deck.

Personally I like the second way better than the first because it allows you to make a good and working half and forget about the second half. It also enables you to add a small, 7 cards, sideboard.

I tried to get some of the decks I had already done working as halfdecks, one of them is http://www.mtgvault.com/muktol/decks/bug-control-lobotomy/

This deck exists only on this site and has never been played against another deck. Regardless I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to improve this deck.

How to Play

This deck tried to cripple your opponents hand using discard. Thrun, the Last Troll is supposed to finish your opponent then.

Extirpate/ Surgical Extraction works extremely well with targeted discard or Archive Trap.

Deck discussion for B/U/G halfdeck: Lobotomy

I can really recommend noxious revival with this.
Remove surgical extraction or extirpate to put noxious revival in.
It can bring back snappy which can bring back something else.
It can bring back ghostquarter so you land-d them.
You can bring back archive trap.
noxiuous rival is good with this :D

Sorry about the spam :D
I'm making a guide on how to build halfdecks!
Go take a look and give me as much input as you have made yourself so far!
One topic that I need a lot of input on is how to test a halfdeck!!!

Sometimes you have to rekindle the spark of something, so here's a small nudge to all halfdeck-designers!
I have not been building any new halfdecks since last time anyone participated, but I have been playing in both modern and legacy with some halfdeck designs, and can say that I'm starting to get good results with 2 of my merged designs. I started of with a black half focussed on discard, and a blue design based on counterspells. It went okay but wasn't radical enough. Second attempt I tried with black discard with deathtouch coupled with green and deathtouch, and I have now won at least 9 points in both modern and legacy with it.
Once I get at least 12 points in both formats I will declare the couple for stable, and then I will see what happens when I either play BU-discard+deathtouch+counterspells+countercritters or UG-counters+countercritters+deathtouch critters.

I write to each and everyone of you to know if anyone else besides me have got anything that might work in either modern or legacy :D

This is a really cool idea, like a mix and match sort of thing. I love it :D I'll have to try it myself with some of the cards in my collection. Kudos to you
