I dont love this deck by any means, its and old deck so its not very good. I really dont play much standard anymore mostly legacy and cube. Besides which black is pretty shitty in standard now since wizards screwed black over in the innastrad block. (and it looks like m13 also) Anyway this is supposed to be a control deck (not aggro) if i was to revise is i would probably do this....drop massacre wurm, phyrexian crusader, all the swords, and all the skirges. then add more land, maybe some smallpox im not sure though mono black is pretty crappy. anyway check out these monoblack variants currently i run a casual mono black control deck with... umezawas jitte, 3x vampire nighthawk, 3x obliterator, 4x hymn to tourach 2x durress, 3x inquisistion of kozilek, 2x phyrexian arena, 2x consume the meek, 1x black sun zenith, 4x dark ritual, 2x contract from below, 1x wurmcoil, 1x grave titan, 2x gatekeeper of malikir and a good mix of removal including doom blades, go for the throats disfigures and ghastly demise. also in the sideboard is surgical extractions, vengeful pharoh, massacre wurm, more kill spells, liliana of the veil and lux cannon and ratchet bombs

im not sure what your trying to do with this deck but theres alot of things you need to do. 1 add early game hand disruption (4x hymn to tourach, 3x thoughtseize 1x durress the reason for the 3/1 split is to mimimize life loss) you also need card draw. to solve this problem try phyrexian arena or necropotence. buriud alive is not needed take them all out. also drop the bonesplinters, ambition, assasinates for go for the throats and possibly some disfigures. you should also pretty much drop all your creatures for.... gatekeeprs of malikir, phyrexian obliterators, vampire nighthawks, (other possibilities include hypnotic spectar) look at these decks for help http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=342473

dont know what format this is but you should add demonic/vampiric tutors and you NEED early game disruption ( hymn to tourach and thoughtseize)

heres my 2 cents:

first drops:curse of stalked pray (its pretty bad), also drop reforge the soul (no need for a wheel of fortune in this deck) goldnight commander (bad value for its cmc) selfless cathar (not good)

add: here are some possible cards to add: grand abolisher, mirran crusader, burn spells (pillar of flame, brimstone volley) fiend hunter, oblivion ring, angelic destiny, and hellrider is even possible. also consider oblivion rings and going up to 4 silverblades.

haha ive seen at least 4 u/g varients of this deck on the vault. plus the u/g version of this deck with blighteded agent and wild defiance was ran by robbi ramirez in a scg open before anyone posted it. these decks are fun but definitly not teir-1 decks. they actually do pretty teribly in tournament play. nonetheless it is a fun deck to run but only really wins when it has the perfect oppening hand.

sorry man i guess you dont know what block constructed is...block constructed is only cards from the block. so in this deck you can ONLY USE CARDS FROM INSTRAD BLOCK. so no birds and no dismember. the reason for the manabase is I always need to be able to play tragic slip since it is my most efficant removal. also the manabase is fine since manafixing is plentiful in this deck with borderland ranger, abundent growth, and evolving wilds. I can always get red mana when i want to. aslo i need black for when im sideboarding in cards like human frality. falkenrath aristocrat, tribute.

i personaly would replace stromkirk for more burn (because your running pheonix and dont have much burn as it is), or phantasmal images or bonfires maybe arc trails or gitaxian probes. Vexing devil looks really good on paper but unfortunatly does not do that good in games. (except for if your on the play on turn ). THe only reason is because your oponent makes the decison so it hardly does what you want it to do UNLESS you are playing full out aggro where you try to win by turn 5 which you are not. because turn 1 on the play is essentially the ONLY time where the card does what you want it to do.

you should check out calcano's grad prix winning ur delver he runs 4 delvers 1 dungeon gesit 2 stalkers 4 snapcasters and 1 phantasmal image 2 bonfire 1 devils play 1 galvanic blast 4 gitasxian probe 1 incinerate 3 pillar of flame 4 ponders 2 pikes 4 thought scours and 3 vapor snag. I like your list though i would definitly drop the ravings and put in probes go down to 1 or 2 devils play and 2 bonfires then add some more burn ( arc trail, pillar, incinerate etc.) drop the stromkirks for stalkers and drop the pheonix cuz your not running to much burn also check my latest legacy brew http://www.mtgvault.com/DrawSimulator.aspx?DeckID=343808

yep killing wave sounded awesome to me also when i first saw it but then you realise its not good. when if you are trying to sweep their board your gonna have to pay a hefty price around 6 mana or else your opponent will glady take 4 damage and keep one of his guys alive to beat you with. and 6 mana is too much for a board sweeper anyway that usually just acts as a doom blade and a lava axe. as LSV said "your basicly paying alot of mana and life just to let your oppoent make a decision which only around 25% of the time both your opponents decisions will benefit you- anyway it is a intersting card regardless it wont get play in any formmat but looks fun. also can somone check out my latest legacy brew its an intersting one. http://www.mtgvault.com/DrawSimulator.aspx?DeckID=343808

haha I guess you are not familiar with this deck. THIS IS NOT a stifle plus dreadnaught combo deck. it is a control deck that uses trinket mage to fetch for either dreadnaught, explosives, or dreadnaught when a stifle is in hand. Stifle is an amazing card and is a counterspell before a combo piece. infact this deck would probably rape torpor orb decks. thanks for the comment but the point of this deck is to control and use trinket mage to its full potential. you actually dont use the phyrexian dreadnaught combo that much.
