Working on this deck based around Archangel of Thune. Spike Feeder + Archangel of Thune is an infinite lifegain and +1/+1 counters combo, although you'll probably want other creatures out to take advantage of it. Felidar Soverign for an instant win, Fathom Mage for card draw, or your cheap mana-dorks and life gain wardens for other beaters. Sanguine Bond will also close out the game.In the sideboard are some other creatures that could work in this deck. Avacyn's Pilgrim is a cheaper alternate to Noble Hierarch, although you can't cast Fathom Mage off of it. Horizon Chimera also works to combo infinitely with Fathom Mage and Archangel of Thune. Serra Ascendant works with your life gain and is a cheap creature. Laboratory Maniac is an alternate win condition if you decide to just draw yourself out with the combos.

Without birthing pod this combo isn't easy to get going(unless they are oblivious to the combo)

Hm.. Birthing Pod's a good idea. It's a great tutor, but I thought maybe with the amount of removal around, sacrificing your creatures might hold you back since each creature plays parts in gaining you life or have some sort of benefit. For example you'd have to sacrifice Fathom Mage (which is your card draw), in order to get an Archangel. I guess you don't necessarily need card draw if you get your combo though... Thanks for the comment, I've got some thinking and testing to do.
You generally play Birthing pod as a card advantage engine, thats why you have cards like Finks or Resto(not in your list) Persist/undying creatures are very useful.
