That you made a funny standard deck is just awesome. Its so much easier to do in legacy and vintage. Check out these decks I think you might enjoy the humor in them. I'm with you hobojy, This deck is a riot. I remember makeing a seriously demented Death Pits of Rath/Pestilence deck This is so much more funny. Maybe I should post a modern update on that Death Pits deck.
If your are going to go trash (not legal in any format) you might as well go the whole way. Add 4 tinkers and and if your are running poxies (4 Timewalks suggest you are) might as well add proxy Moxes, Time Vaults, 4 Sol Ring and 4 Voltaic Keys, Mana Vaults. Why make a deck that can win on turn two when you can make it so it can win on turn 1? Black Lotus + Mox + Tinker + Time Vault + Voltaic key = infinite turns Black Lotus + Mox + Tinker + Mana Vault + Voltaic key = infinite mana Black Lotus + Mox + Tinker + Darksteel Colossus All the above can be pretty intimidating first turn.
Congradulations surewhynot, Hope to do the same some day. My Favorite Card Emrakul, the Aeons Torn - The evilest of the evil creatures. Questions for surewhynot 2. What is your favorite combo? (I'll make a deck based on that combo to celebrate you 100th deck) My favorite is combo is Wall of Blood + Fling 3. Would you please look at my Pinnochio deck because nobody else seems to want to? Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=135203 I think it has potential to become a "Real Deck" with the right suggestions. 4. My favorite deck that I've made Alluring Slivers Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=132680 A deck capable winning turn two with a bunch of very big untargetable near to unblockable Slivers. My favorite surewhynot deck is Tree-ted! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=125815 I just like the thought of killing opponents with a bunch of trees. It reminds me of the joy I've had a killing opponents with Walls: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=128231 Lands: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=132244 and Insects: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=136662 May you always make your own good luck, Planestalker
you ask for my 2 cents (it might be worth much less), but what can I say you get what you pay for Add Snake Umbra if you can figure out a way to fit it in
Poor man's substitutes for Berserk Desperate Gambit (works only 50% of the time) Here are my really, really, really cheap all common kiln fiend decks legacy all common http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=133638 Standard g/r http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=133510
If you put in force of will instead of brainstorm and standstill instead of spreading seas you would end up with a deck that is very much like my Fun with Merfolk deck. You only would lack what I consider one of the best creature support cards of all time Kira, Great Glass-Spinner add a 2 of her and your deck will be shiny. My fun with merfolk deck is a a very slight modification (all blue no white) of a 1st Place Legacey Pro Tour see (http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=679661) To check out my Fun with Merfolk deck see http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=126083
Wastelands would be nice to add
Ashnod's Altar Artifact, 3 (3) Sacrifice a creature: Add {2} to your mana pool. Might be helpful tp create mana and combo with discipline of the vault.
fywdyl, Thanks for pointing out Tolarian wWnds can't be used to target opponent I obivious misread it. Of the substitutions I like Burning Inquiry best 3 discards for 1 mana is nice. But after a little research I came up with an even more interesting one. Abandon Hope Sorcery, X1B (2) As an additional cost to cast Abandon Hope, discard X cards. Look at target opponent's hand and choose X cards from it. That player discards those cards. which could combo with Brink of Madness Enchantment, 2BB (4) At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have no cards in hand, sacrifice Brink of Madness and target opponent discards his or her hand. Have made changes accordingly.
Jorentju_84, Thanks for the advise have made changes accordingly.
Main deck look solid. Memoricide might by more useful in side board than doom blade. Volition Reins lets you take control over planeswalkers and might be an improvement over sower of temptation. Check out my dark depths hexmage deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=123479
Bananafishbones, Thanks for the helpful hint. Have changed deck description accordkingly.
I like your deck alot. But may I be so bold as to suggest some improvements. Take out 4x Necromancy put in 4x Exhume why because it only costs 1B instead of 2B and you reallyneed not worry about what your opponent may bring up because you hopefully will be using exhume 1st or 2nd turn. Take out 4x Distress and put in 4x Zombie Infestation why because you can put two cards in graveyard and make a 2/2 zombie token for 1B instead of only one creature for BB Take out 4x Blackmail and put in 4x Entomb why because you can take any creature from your library and put it onto graveyard for B instead of any creature in hand for B Take out 4x Animate Dead and put in 4 Reanimate why because you can take any creature from your graveyard out for B instead of 1B and the creature can't be buried by enchantment removal and it can be used to put a Doomed Necromancer into play on turn 1 after an Entomb or Zombie Infestation Take out 1 of each Eldrazi and put in 3x Buried Alive why because buried alive not only puts 3 creatures into your graveyard it also thins your deck improving your chance of drawing cards you want into your hand. Take out 2x Swamp an 2 Strands of Night and put in 4x Dark Ritual why because BBB first turn is broken and allows you to Entomb and Exhume on turn 1 landthe oss of 2 swamp won't matter that much because we've added 4 fast mana sources and if you do what I suggest you will have added at 8 spells that cost only B instead of 1B or 2B. If you do the above you will start making a deck that sort of looks alot mine. Check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=123170
Zombie Infestation Enchantment, 1B (2) Discard two cards: Put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield Can be a handy card for a reanimator deck.
Icetforu, MTG Card search says its legal in Legacy and Classic, but restricted in Vintage. http://magiccards.info/query?q=Lotus+Petal&v=card&s=cname Restricted in Vintage (Type 1) Legal in Legacy (Type 1.5) Legal in Classic (MTGO)
With the theme of lots of swamps I'm suprised you didn't include a couple Nightmares. Nightmare Creature - Nightmare Horse */*, 5B (6) Flying Nightmare's power and toughness are each equal to the number of Swamps you control
Reminds me of a Sliver deck I made that included exactly one of every Sliver card that was available at that time. Sliver Queen or Overlord both make great EDH Generals.
superwill21. You of course are correct. Don't know why I imported Reckless Abandon. I will fix deck list.
Deck really needs some card draw. Wall of Omens perhaps. Sembalance anvil might help too. But if you really want to speed the deck up add some blue mana for trinket mage, preordains. and Riddlesmith. By modifying my infinite myr man deck found at http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=110422 but using mostly your deck Here's a possible example of what I get Artifacts - 19 1x Chimeric Mass 4x Accorder's Shield 4x Darksteel Axe 3x Gold Myr 4x Myr Galvanizer 3x Sembalance Anvil Creatures - 9 3x Darksteel Myr 3x Riddlesmith 2x Etched Champion 1x Trinket Mage Spells - 10 3x Dispense Justice 3x Revoke Existence 4x Preordain or 4x Wall of Omens Mana Sources - 22 10x Plains 6x Islands 2x Everflowing Chalice 2x Mox Opal
