I would straight up swap out Spreading Seas for Aquitects Will. Personally, I would replace Remand, Dispel, and Vapor Snag for Negate. But thats just me. Play around with it and see what you like.

Same thing just faster to play. Aquitect's Will being the better option because of the card draw as well. Also, it opens up some interesting options if you want to splash white or black Merfolk in. You can make your Plains and Swamps into Islands as well as their other land type.

I run one with either or both of Seas Claim and Aquitect's Will to ensure that Island Walk triggers. It can win you the game pretty early on.

Cheers!

What about Academy Ruins? Darksteel Forge is great too.

Nice build. I'm most definitely going to copy this one. If you feel like you want to add some protection against removal, I could see Alpha Authority, Heroic Intervention, and Blossoming Defense all working really well here.

One thing to consider is that you don't have any way to deal with flying creatures. Maybe look at swapping in some flying defenders like
Wall of Reverence (also helps you with life gain if you can get something with any power onto the field) or the aforementioned Wakestone Gargoyle. Also look at Angelic Wall (fairly plain but low cmc) and also Wall of Swords.

Cheers!

I like it. Personally, I'd probably drop the Brutal Hordechief all together and add a little more removal like Go for the throat or Ultimate price. Fatal Push would be fun in this. If your opponent says screw it and ends up killing one of your creatures, you get to return the favor haha. Also, no need for those dual lands this way. Your mana becomes even simpler.

I like this one. I have a Baral deck that concentrates on counterspells but this is a nice change of pace. I like Metallurgic Summonings in this but can't help but wonder why you don't have at least one high cmc sorcery to take advantage of it? Something like Burn From Within is not only great for removing heavy hitters, but it would create a really nice Construct token as well.

+1 from me :)

Why did I include the card? Or why the name?
The card is in there because of his ability. Pay 1W to make another vehicle a creature until end of turn. Makes the Dreadnought pretty terrifying. And I figured the name was as good as any lol

He would be cool to have and he fits the mold, but he's so expensive to cast. Seeing that you don't have any mana ramp, the earliest you can get him out would be turn 7. And that only if you draw 7 lands. Depending on your play group and the types of decks your opponents are running, espeacially in modern or legacy, you may not even get to turn 7 ya know? Unless you add a way to tutor him on to the field, i would probably pass on it.
One possible way to get him in play would be with Deathrender. Equip the sword to a dying creature and use its ability to put it on the field. And it fits your theme too.

Cheers!

I hear what you're saying. I'm in agreement but at a loss for what to swap out.

I will often run lands like Orzhov Basilica if only to confuse opponents into thinking I have less open mana than they think ;)

Cool deck! Have you seen Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim? 2/3 Deathtouch for 2, pay 1 to sac a creature and gain life OR pay 3 to sac a creature, exile non-land permanent (only if you have 10 more life than starting total)

Cheers!

Thanks for the tips!
I really like both the boots and the greaves. However, I like the stealthsuit better for this because I can equip as an instant with it instead of as a sorcery for both of the aforementioned footwear! Helps me protect whoever needs it on my opponents turn.

Big game hunter is such a solid card. I will be adding that for sure! Not sure how I missed it the first time.
Going to check that link right meow.

Cheers!
