Jonathan Suarez piloted this commander on an episode of Commander Versus. Volrath is expensive to put out and he has no aversion on his own but the nature of big black mana is that even when you're not able to do the thing you started out trying to do, you have super powerful high CMC cards to play with
The idea is that you want to get Volrath out, attack and pitch a huge CMC creature or two to kill with commander damage. But if that doesn't work it's literally a mono black good stuff deck so just use any of the other lines to win.
