Deck discussion for Standard BUG Control

Prophet is almost meaningless here...

I'd also drop Devour, Hybranization, 1 Dissolve & Plasm Capture...

I'd add some Desecration Demon, 1 Ultimate Price, 1 Doom Blade, 1 more Hero's Downfall, 2 Syncopate & 2-3 Read the Bones... ...may be you don't even need Underworld, only Read the Bones...

I'd use only 1 AEtherling mainboard & 1 more in the sideboard...

If you construct your mana base correctly, than with 25 lands, you could have 3 Mutavault & still make it stabil...

I pretty much like the sideboards you have here, tough I'd add some Negate there...

Thanks! I rarely get straight up posts like this. Appreciate your time helping.

Prophet is sort of my pet card, I want it to work so bad, I love the concept so much. Sadly, it just doesn't have the right stuff... I've gotten off some cute wins with it, but nothing seriously consistent.

Same with plasm capture >.< unfortunately, there's not even anything to dump into with the mana I would get.

As for your deck, I've never been impressed with how Anger of the Gods works, it's never done it job for me. I like Rakdos Return so much better, so maybe 1 for 1 on that.

I also liked the idea of Whip in there, it hits a ton of your huge guys like desecration demon and stormbreath for some extra damage. It also provides lifelink along with your helix's which covers any damage from read the bones or early aggro damage that allow you to stabilize. Maybe helix will just do better, but I love some come from behind plays with it, or some finishing moves with a flash-backed demon.

(Plus cute tricks with Obzedat that are just a bonus whenever you get it off).

Other than that, it just looks super solid. I can't really give you too much advice without just adding my own personal preference.

Thanks for your feedback!

Anger of the Gods is super effective against most aggro decks & when cast along with a Mizzium Mortars(not overloaded), it can take out an even bigger threat along with the smaller ones... ...because Anger is no good against midrange & control, I play only 2 mainboard & 1 in the sideboard for aggro matchups...

I wish we had Lightning Helix instead of Warleader's, but despite the 2 extra mana, it can take out 4/4's & such... ...in standard, there are many 4 toughness creatures that really rule the board... ...most of the time tough, I take out a planeswalker, or hit the opponent.......

Whip is nice in an R/B/W midrange deck, when you run 3-4 Boros Reckoner & this type of deck usually does, but mine is more midrange & more control orientated...

Here is my B/U/G control... ...you might get some ideas by analyzing it... ...it works out great so far.......
