This concept is an interesting, and I have made the deck several times. I just thought that I would release this version because i could. It is not bad, but a hard deck to make right. There are several other decks better then this such as merilia pod, or the american control, and I can't get this thing close to competing with those, not to mention valakut decks that are everywhere

Sol ring is banned from modern, unless it is now off the ban list, and in that case I will buy as many as I can before the rise 50$ in price, and anger of the gods cost 2 red as well as 1 other to play. Look at the mana base in this deck. Often times it is hard enough to get the color mana that you need, and chromatic star is there to help fix that, and draw at the same time. So only having one colored mana symbol in the cost is crucial. I did play around with both slagstorm and Anger of the Gods, and they didn't work

Assault strobe would help, just not the mana curve... hmmmm

Try liege of the tangle, that is a really fun deck to play, fairly cheap to not sure if I spelled that right, creates 8/8's out of your lands, add in some valakuts and a scapeshift just for another win con, and you have a pretty good deck

not sure, but I am working on a deck like this, and I will let you know when it is done

Good concept, mana curve needs some work though, but really good concept

My friend challenged me to a competition to see who could build the best devotion deck, and this is a green devotion, with red splashed for Xenagos because it is such a good card. I am trying to use green devotion because there is no way to get a multi-colored devotion card. For example, does X damage where x is your devotion to green AND red, there are no cards like this.

Try nova Chaser it is a 4 drop 10/2 elemental

Look up first strike rulings

Basicly helps with the blocking, does first strike damage, then does damage to the player, that's all.

Not at all, happy to inspire you! just so you know, you arnt the first one, somebody else built a deck called competitive flock, it is on the main page, and it is modeled after this deck as well.

no, i am not offended at all, just sayin, the other 3 should be a little different, control or more based around life gain instep of just damage
