Dryad Arbor.....
There are 8 fetchlands that can get it...

I really hate to be this guy, but Deceiver Exarch + Twin. I mean, I love these fringe combo decks like this that sometimes work, but when you really come down to it, the best 2 card kill in modern in UR is twin.... People are all over this deck like its a new breakthrough.... I dunno, I hate twin for that, but I've come to terms twin being the combo if your going to play something like this.
On a completely different note, cool combo!

Generally, I would agree with you, but a lot of times it seems like creeping tar out helps speed the process up by even 1 turn. 2 attacks with hunted horror usually isn't enough to kill someone in modern, but adding an extra 3 points of damage on turn 4-5 can really make a difference, 14 points of damage to 17 points of damage.

Try playing Cruel Ultimatum as a 1 or 2 of in here! Super good!

Well, thanks for the feedback, and I don't know under what circumstances you played the deck, but I wasn't able to get anything done against the better decks out there. I really feel like these little kid Junk decks are horrible compared to their counterpart, and I think you would be better off playing Anafenza's company instead, or podles pod as some like to call it. Though if you we're hoping to transition over to a junk build, if your not playing Tasigur, play bob, he pops up when you need him to, and he kills twin and control stratigies including the mirror if left unanswered. Just because goyf is, well, goyf. I would up the count to 3-4, as in the time that I was building this I only had 1. Looking at this list several months later, I would rather play a more reliable naya zoo build with collected company.
Thanks for the input though, glad you enjoyed the deck!

If only pod was still legal in modern...

Hey guys, I would love some feedback on this deck I am going to take to the state tournament on April 4th. This deck is meant to specifically deal with the current meta, so everything in there is there for a reason. Not sure about Doran/Coursor/Brids
I would really appreciate the help!

I mean building decks that have never seen play, completely new concepts that haven't been explored to their full extent yet. For example, when living end came out of nowhere a few years ago, it was a really cool deck that hadn't really been explored at all.
It wouldn't be an article for new players directly, but more of a collaboration article, where those who have really good ideas can post them and get feedback to see if their idea is viable.

My advice for you is build that deck. It is actually good right now, not great, but not bad either. There are several directions that you can go with it, and as long as you keep in mind what decks are out there, you can alter your game plan accordingly. It is a really good way to become comfortable with the game and learn what modern is all about.
Go for it, you can only get better from there.

Hey Gothy, I was thinking of writing an article about Advanced Deck Building: Rogue, for all formats, but mainly modern as it is the most likely to see new rogue decks, tell me what you think.

See where you are going with this. It looks like caw-blade which is rare, but I have seen it played at my locals. Now, if you don't mind putting the price up 100-200$, then run a playset of any fetchland that has white in it, such as windswept Heath or flooded strand. This way you get less useless land top-decks in the late game, and instead are drawing the cards you need. You can add squadron hawk, as this gives an edge up against 8-rack, and filters your deck even better top-decks in late game. You might add Elberes, the binding blade, as kf that resolves, its game over. I would only add it as a 1 of, because you don't want to be stuck with e in your hand.

I'm no expert in storm, but I think why you get that feeling is because modern does not have the good filter cards like ponder, or brainstorm. Its a little more choppy here, and we dont have seething song either. I might be wrong, but hope that helps.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you all would check out a new modern brew! Its elemental beat down a la max, featuring none other than the highly underrated Dread!

Thanks guys and appreciate the feedback!

Btw Gothy, I really like what you are doing here and would love to see more of these on the main page! +1 from me

Why don't you play:
Loxodon Smiter
Woolly Thoctar
Kessig Wolf Run
Burning-Tree Emissary
Tarmogoyf - Definitely the most budget card ever
Also, and I know this from expirence, if you are playing a zoo deck, you should be running anywhere between 8-12 removal spells, these can be lightning bolt, lightning helix, path to exile, or any other number of things. There are budget replacements for all of these!

You also need to run Ghor-Clan Rampager as a 4 of. Super budget, and super good!

If you want an example of a non-budget:
http://www.mtgvault.com/vanguard487/decks/naya-zoo-4/
That deck has been worked on for about 6 months!

Please, if I reiterated anything, don't get mad at me... I was too lazy to read everything else :P
Good luck!! And nice brew!

Well, so here is the thing. This list is outdated, because I misunderstood how dredge works. You can dredge only one card instead of drawing, and you can dredge off of faithless looting

Okay, so I have read all of the comments this time, and this hasn't come up: Primordial Hydra. It demands a responce even if you only play it for 3, its a 4/4 2 turns later, and two more turns later you have a 16/16 trample. Might not be a bad idea. I really don't think cratorhoof behemoth has a place in here, I thing you would need more creatures to get it to work really well.

Okay, well, what about something like khalini Hydra? Maybe throw in a Nykthos Shrine to Nyx, 8 mana, 1 land

Tooth and Nail? Might be a good 1 or 2 of as an alternate win con

I guess that might help... Huh, lol!
http://www.mtgvault.com/vanguard487/decks/dredge-20-2/
So hear is how it works. By turn 4 you should have time to dredge 50 cards of your library, shooting for at least 3 hero of oxid ridge in the yard, accompanied by 2 Dearly Departed. You are also looking for 1 unburial rites, and 1 Angel of Glory's Rise. Use unburial rites on Angel of Golry's rise, get back your 3-4 Hero's, they enter the battlefield with 1-2 +1/+1 counters from the Dearly Departed, which should take them out of bolt and sweeper range. Then attack in with 3-4 5/3 or 6/4's, they each trigger battle cry, which then leads to them all being 9/4's or 8/4's. Damage step, easily over 20 damage for game. Done :P. Did I mention that Hero comes with the added buff of not being able to be blocked by creatures with power 1 or less?
