Ya, that is true, you would need to build a different deck entirly to make use of the big dudes.... And I'm not sure if it would even be good then (primal crux green??)

Digressing a bit, how does Tron win turn 3? I mean aside from turn 3 Karn they really don't lay on the pressure very fast, it's more of a control deck... Anyway, ya, tribal zoo is stupidly fast and it is better, but I'm just saying you CAN get away with big dudes, it may not be as good, but you can sometimes get away with it

Really? Because did you know big zoo is a thing? I play that as well, and it works just fine. In fact It works great, it's a slower shell but once it gets going is harder to stop. All of these combo decks are felt with by removal, and hyper-aggressive aggro decks are felt with removal and things like volcanic fallout in the sideboard. I used to think it, but modern isn't about speed anymore. The format is slowing down.

It was the first thing I could think of, and if you slowed the deck
Down enough, you might be able get away with it as a 1 of especially of you are running 3-4 birds of paradise

On a different note though gothy, normal dredgevine is a combo, without being a combo, you don't need it to win, in this case it's just synergy. With all the graveyard hate right now it is a good idea to be running with a shell that is a bit slower, but more reliable, I don't know about something like this, as this is more like Jund, but in the true spirit of dredgevine, perhaps a higher curve, nothing comes to mind at the moment, but you might be able to build this with a blue shell (I know there is the one with the crab) and maybe run some creature removal, so vengevine an still iWork, maybe like shriek maw, because you are still casting a creature

Well, given I had a big list and narrowed it down in 15 mins, it turned out very well, I will be constantly updating this list over probably the next 6 months. I feel this deck idea is closest to caw-blade, but a better version of caw-blade can abvously be created in modern, but you cant use stoneforge mystic. Therefore you need to build a different deck entirly, and Pride Prision Fliers seems to do the job.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Ya, I hear you, I managed to find 1 for 120$ at my LGS that was used, and was future sight, but it was still a tarmogoyf, and so I picked it up. I still need 3 of them to finish my Naya Zoo deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/vanguard487/decks/naya-zoo-3/) so I am using Woolly Thoctar in place of it right now. Thats working out pretty well, but goyf is always better :(.

No like, just I know that all those are modern staples, and from experience watching prices on them, it makes sense that wizards will reprint them to make modern more affordable. For example, even though Tarmogoyf deserves to be mythic (they should make up a new rarity for those OP cards like that though) they will probably re-print him as a rare so you have an improved likelihood of pulling one, thus driving the price down. They may go from 210 to 160.. but probably not less than that. Wizards is keen to reprint these modern stapes to convince people to start playing the format more often, and currently, it is the most popular format, so wizards better do this right!

These are no goyf, they are meant to try and fill half a goyf if possible, he is an invaluable card that you cant replace, i know thT, but there are the best... Sadly,..

Here are two for you:
-Gruul Burn with Wild Nacatl, kird ape, and tarmogoyf as your creatures
The rest burn spells, Good Luck!
-Next, Boros Aggro, with Nobilis of War, Balefire Liege, Boros Reckoner, Lightning Helix, and double strikers like Hearthfire Hobgoblin

You could also build a deck revolving around ghoultree, bridge from below, and demon of deaths gate, or a landfall deck with OB nixilis, a hypergenesis deck, a polymorph deck, there is so much out there still... you are never done brewing, how about a no-land deck?
