Cool deck. 1 less swamp and Island perhaps? I know the legacy decks typically run less lands (16-18). Also, wondering if the 4 polymorphs are necessary? Perhaps 3 and a sensei's diving top? I know you need it for your bitterblossom to get out Emrakul, but 4 seems 1 too many. Also, thoughtseize over inquisition, Sideboard suggestions, submerge 1, surgical extraction 1-2

No I know its a budget deck hence the (...and $600 obviously,I know your making a budget) I'm not hating on the deck, and I totally get the fun/non competitive part. It just seems like the loss of the mechanic really harms this deck was all I was saying. I think some temple gardens or stomping grounds would really help. And at about $9 a piece doesn't really shatter a budget.

I like the idea, but your missing tarmogoyf, which is a key creature for these decks (...and $600 obviously,I know your making a budget) but thats's one slow down. Also these decks rely on getting forest, plains, and mountains out early so the creatures are big very quick. You do have fetch lands, but they can't grab the lands that have (mountain forest) like stomping ground does, and temple garden (forest plain). This makes the deck even slower. Without testing it, I would assume that it "breaks" the deck. Meaning it won't work. I like the idea of trying though. To me there are other tournament decks that you could go budget on that would be more effective, like a boggle deck.

Yes it is a different spin on an elf deck, I get bored looking at all the same creatures in elf decks. Also, I have a solid legacy tournament elf deck and I know the main ways an elf deck is played. I just built this one because it's super cheap and fun to play. It would work in a duel or a multiplayer game. Yes the main point is to kill someone with infect or normal means. Its nice to have an alt kill option in a multiplayer game for those decks that gain massive life. A taunting elf and bow of nylea wipes opponents board, and a timberwatch elf, plus any unblocked elf and some buffs = dead opponent. I agree a wellwisher would be nice and there are countless other options. And yes the snake doesn't seem to fit but it's infect and it regenerates and is cheap.

I agree ninja. Also, its 2 colors so I really need an opening with the ability to cast green and white. Also, yes most are small casting cost, but the more mana, the bigger my creatures, the faster you die. Although the idea of too much mana isn't far fetched, and Horizon Canopy honestly would fit here. Switching it in.

Another 2 Rishdan Port and you need 3 Karakas. (-2plains, -2 Cavern of souls -1other) Curious to see how the Sera Avenger tests, but my gut tells me you should drop it. Aven Mindcensor is much better in a legacy setting for this deck.

Yes there are so many options, and so few people to test legacy decks on. I have an elf deck, but I thought id try a shot at a budget legacy deck. Thank you for the advice.

Yes, I figured it was probably a pipe dream, but it seemed good for a second. Thanks for the advice.

Not sure where you got the impression that I disagreed with you, all I said was the discussion was helpful--meaning I'm going to test some options that were suggested. And I think you misinterpreted what I meant by slow moving. I mean that when I have played it, it doesn't hit its stride until i get 4 mana, and sometimes thats too late. Thats all. Thanks again for the input.

The deck is slow moving, it has only one 1 casting cost creature. The goal is to get out 4 mana quickly so the deck can get rolling. Why I'm even considering going with 4 natures lore instead of the one rangers path. However, I'm really liking that Scute Mob over the beetle. I do like the leave play/come into play mechanic, why I made this deck. Thanks for the discussion on it you two, its been very helpful.

I know it troubles me as well, but what to take out? I was thinking of including 4, one drop mana elves. Also, I see no Gaea's revenge in my deck ;)

Yes they end fast. This deck is based on a placing legacy tournament deck. Main difference is Fauna Shaman replacing Imperial Recruiter, which haves $1000.

well, most decks run 22 land, and you have 25. So there's a good place for it. Also, 4 sun blasted angels are a bit much. It's a very expensive card to cast, I'd drop it down at least by 1 or 2 and find a better fit. Maybe a good early blocker incase you cant tap a creature. Also, if your running multiplayer, a good cheap card is ghostly prison or propaganda. It should deter attackers in big group games. Also, beloved champlain is great in multiplayer for a blocker.

Yes, I know its really not going to be winning any tournaments, but I simply love the cards. I agree with the side board choice and LoV. Thank you.

In a multiplayer game, yes, but this is a dueling deck. The fact that consume spirit allows you to target a creature OR opponent makes it more versatile
